It is with heavy heart, Paulcb - 2022-05-26

I only know of him from his recent shared adventure, it was a real eye opener for me having never traveled much in the US let alone that route, the insight into his journey through his photos and commentary were really amazing to me. Wish I met the guy although I feel as though I did. My deepest sympathies to his family and many good friends.

Paul always had a friendly suggestion, funny joke, or piece of sage advice to offer those on this forum.

While I only knew him from his forum activity, he seemed a great person by all measures.

My sincere condolences to his family and those who knew him better than I did.

What a shock and tragic loss for all of us, especially his family. I was reading his travel thread and came upon the awful news, and stopped - it can't be true, this doesn't happen here. Sadly, it does. He died doing what he enjoyed. I never met Paul, I only read his threads - that doubled my loss.

From one Paul to another Paul
I never got to meet him but we conversed here on this forum and I followed his journeys.
He turned and took the higher road to heaven. It is finished.
I will miss him here, but I do hope to ride with him later.
In the place where we all hope to be.
I see the light, Christ is risen.

It is with a heavy heart that I am writing this. I've been following Paul's trek back with his new bike. I just received a text
Hi Guys. My name is Greg Burns, and I'm Paul's brother. I've had the pleasure of meeting many of you on several RTEs and STOCs over the years. Y'all are a wonderful, caring, eclectic group of people - and Paul LOVED riding and spending time with all of you. Me too.

I want to sincerely thank you for the kind words and posts on this thread. I really hope Paul can read them from Heaven. Regardless, his wife Sara and their two kids, and well as our entire Burns clan can, and they mean SO much. He was indeed a special person and the best brother a brother could ever have. He was my best friend in life. This is really hard.

FYI: The funeral service has been set for next Saturday at 11:00 am at First Celina Baptist Church, 841 N. Preston Rd, Celina, TX 75009. We would love for any of you who can and want to attend, to please do so. And since this group and his motorcycle riding was such a big part of his life, we are looking to see if there's one of you who would like to say a few words on behalf of his STOC motorcycle community - I'm thinking maybe tell a story or two and/or read some excerpts from all the posts in this thread - a few minutes of whatever you would like to say. Please text or call me at (214)601-2343 if you would like to fill this role - it would be much appreciated.

Blessings to each of you, and thank you again for your love of Paul and all the kind words and thoughts. Y'all meant a LOT to him.

Greg,

Many of us here never had the good fortune to meet Paul in person but feel that we got to know him through his posts and interactions on the forum. We all followed his trip to bring the new bike back home and were utterly shocked by his passing. We can only imagine what a loss it must be for you and your family. Words are often inadequate but we hope you take some comfort in the fact that Paul was well regarded and well liked. He was a decent caring man and we are all better for having had the opportunity to know him, even if in passing.

Greg, i met you at RanchSTOC when you and Paul were there. Have also riden with Paul a few times. He stayed at my place in Granbury on our way to WinterSTOC a few years ago.
I am heartbroken to hear this saddening news.
Please pass on my condolences to his wife and children and to all of the rest of the family.
RIP Paul, my good friend.

Just devastating news. Paul and I had dinner the first night at my first STOC event (MN-Stoc). He was a class act, a truly caring and helpful person. He was THE epitome of a member of this forum online and in person. And I really hate having to talk about him in the past tense. God Speed Paul you are truly missed.

It's always sad when someone dies unexpectedly.

From someone who only knew Paul through his posts, his thoughts will be missed.

My prayers and condolences go out to Paulcb's family & friends.

Greg and family,

(long pause thinking . . . what to say?)

My life is a brighter one for having known Paul and for the memories of good times, adventures and meals shared that remain and will continue to enrich my soul.

R.I.P. Paul :ang1:
