Good morning everyone

Presumably the European contingent are sleeping off their Norway Day hangovers, so I've made them some hot black coffee to help. There's enough to go around, so queue up in an orderly fashion and all will be served. Or just wander into the kitchen, grab a cup, and help yourselves when and as you please. I don't care.

It's 65°F and clear in Rockville, going to sunny and 95 later. It won't last, though.

Yesterday was pretty much all about the ukulele. Today the instruments have to share the time with the goof clubs, as Monday is the day of the regular Old Guy (and a few Old Gals) Golf "league" social opportunity.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

We did share a bottle of red, after the dinnerparty though….
A fine celebration, but I missed Peter.
He was with his parents in their cabin, on another island.
Maybe next year.

12˚c/54f, quite nice for now, but heavy rain is expected later, much needed…

It's 58, rising to 84 under some clear skies.

Yesterday I managed to get out to do the oil change that started my Achilles saga. I managed to overfill, so drained some , until I had the correct amount.
I also checked and adjusted the tire pressure and oil levels on the other vehicles while Brenda was mowing.
Brenda grilled a couple of steaks and foil potatoes to finish our day.

Today, I'll head over to the track in Thompson to flag for the Penguin race school.

Wow, some of the Usual Suspects are late / missing today. But I can't judge, as i go AWOL on occasion.
(But that can be viewed as a gift, by some...)
Was pressed into attending a dance recital for my great-niece this weekend, but i put on my resigned (not to be confused with "retired") face and was polite, even though it is far from my cup of tea, which I also don't care for.
The brake cable finally arrived so I am closer to returning my weathered, old Toro push mower to service. But I didn't install it yet.
Yesterday Roz and I went to Home Despot and found a gas grill for my birthday to replace the rusted- out one I discarded two years ago. There is some confusion whether it will include free delivery, as the website says one thing, and customer disservice tells another story.
As we learn at my company, all problems come down to systems and leadership. HD seems to need help with both aspects.
So much for Monday.
Let's get this over with.
Oh, yeah. Going up to 90 today, yesterday I was riding in 93, and it felt warm.
Thanks for getting us started, Keith, and I don't have a headache.
(I may be a headache, but I don't have one.)
 
thanks for the start will get back to some sort of tea this am i think it was the coffee that did me in on the journey home yesterday
will take it easy today and finish it couple reports on the business aspect of my short but sweet trip
It was an MH adventure the no 3 from hope to princeton grand forks cranbrook 95a to kimberly then to radium and back to the lower mainland the C23 with the dualies and twin i beam handled all the twists and turns and the V10 what can't i say about that and not bad on gas either
once past a certain point deer every where plenty dead on the side and one half way across my lane it's been a real problem will be interesting to see if anything gets done about it
no snow roads were excellent and not much traffic many low cloud and heavy fog regions reduced visibility to a couple hundred feet maybe
would have to call it a near miss, undived highway approaching a bridge before a sharp bend to the left night fog headlights coming into view i pulled over the shoulder and stopped and here comes all 18 wheels roaring down from the mountain and right in the in the middle of the bridge doesn't care; deer or anything else
It's all good experience hopefully the next run will be on the ST

Good morning, all, and thanks for the coffee, Keith!

It's raining, and it looks like it's been raining for some time. That will continue until around midday, but it's supposed to go back to being mainly sunny by about 4 p.m. 12°C/54°F now, 22°C/72°F later. Not much on the agenda today, other than getting together with a few of the neighbours for a friendly "coffee break" later this morning in the rotunda (round building in the middle of the complex, where the gym and common/reception area are). Always nice to gather and chew the fat for a bit.

@Whisker Bill: My sincere apologies, Brian, I neglected to wish you safe travels and happy trails yesterday! So if you're checking in en route, safe travels and happy trails!

Welp, ta-ta for now. Everybody have a good one, stay safe and go safely.

Good morning all, thanks for the coffee Keith. Happy Victoria Day holiday to my fellow Canucks. (National Patriots Day in Quebec.)

Sunny and 13, headed to 16 later on.

Already made Mrs. O breakfast this morning and have one rolling A/C unit fitted in to the window pane replacement I built. As our windows swing open, the standard install kit for portable A/C units won't work.

I'll work on installing the bedroom wall shaker later on. That involves building a larger frame to support the slide in window unit. The space doesn't allow for another portable unit unfortunately.

As for yesterday, after mowing part 2 of the 4 part lawn, Mrs. O wanted to go for a ride. Temps were a lovely 26C. We were out for 5 hours or so, and stopped for dinner at a restaurant @steve3b3, @DannoVT, @catcher & I ate at last year during WoodSToc (The All Seasons Inn) I chose a very tasty chicken and rib special, consisting of in house smoked pork ribs and home made battered chicken breasts, with fries and slaw. Mrs. O. had the chicken quesadilla. No room for any of the homemade desserts.

The rest of today, as mentioned earlier, is install the 2nd A/C unit, do some other tasks, and have an in-law family dinner out at a local restaurant later on. It's an early celebration of the in-laws 59th wedding anniversary. We tried to make reservations for 12 at a certain large chain restaurant in town, but they said they were too busy then and wanted us to come 2 hours earlier. They are notorious for telling folks no for reservations unless you come at the time they suggest. They just lost out on 12 customers income..

G'mornin' and thanks for the coffee, Keith! As reported, it's a not-wholly-unpleasant-but-still-humid 62F/17C and rising to 94F. We'll get a few sweaty days then rain from Wednesday night thru the wknd. So, whatever I need to get done outside I need to do before Wed night.

It's a Monday, so not much to report. Yesterday, I got the old Wurlitzer 2900 juke box gutted after an hour or so of peering and poking around inside. It was equal parts fascination and sadness, but maybe the parts we salvaged can be used by others who know more about restoring them. This one was too far gone, I'm amazed the glass was still intact. The best part was pulling out all the old records, like a trip back into the 70s...well, mostly. I was a little too young back then to "Shake Your Rump To The Funk." :tongue: But I was treated to a pulled BBQ pork and bologna lunch and a flight of beers from the local brewery, Mully's, literally around the block from the storage space. Worth it.

Wife's been struggling with back pain the last few days, so methinks some deep massage with Icy Hot is being called for. Take care y'all!

Morning Keith & All from a weather, mixed up morning, in Southern Utah!

Currently it is 42F, up from 32F and heading for 53F. We got .13" of rain, and then late last night, we got about 2" of snow! :redface-2x: Where did that come from? :unsure: As the snow is all melting, there is a slight breeze out there, but later, the winds will be coming from the NNW @ 13 to 27mph.

Chris is off to a friends to help her with her sewing, so I'm here, stuck in the house, since it's muddy and cold outside!

Eggs, bacon, toast and OJ to start the morning. I'll have a couple of Pepsis, during the day!

Well, my snowblower is still in the front of my garage, ready to be used, but, this snow wasn't enough to get it out! :rofl1:
