2008 - new shade of red, 2009 - same shade of red, same bike, one character different in Model name on Certificate of Origin.
2010 - black, 2012 - same shade of black, same bike, one character different in Model name on Certificate of Origin.

So . . . 2013 is either another bye year (like 2011) OR maybe it'll be . . BLUE? Blue is the only color that hasn't been repeated!

Just think'in out loud.

At CalSTOC I saw George on the 1300:eek: but I was so shocked I didn't think to pull out the camera. George claims if it ain't on film it didn't happen! But you guys believe me, don't you?

MMmmmm... a Kawasaki Dealer here just offered me a C14 under $14000-New. Honda....your killing the model. And YES...there are other Mfg.'s adding extras w/out raising cost more than $100 for the new model. I think this is the way HONDA can kill the model and say..."it just didn't sell anymore..." Yep!!

It's just like the Model-A... You can have any color you want, as long as it's black... :D

I realize that, Mellow, but it's still a $3000 jump for no "new and improved" stuff. The cost of everything is going up except my income :-(
It is true, but you may also think about the fact that the dollar has lost value too.

I like to see a 2012 model with no real changes because it means parts for my 2005 will be available until at least 2022.

The same bike I paid $12,500 for a couple of years ago is now $18,200. Where's the $6000 in improvements???
I paid $500 less for my 2010 'Wing.....:hyp1: I know it's not the same year...but I have Cruise control and reverse....:rofl1:

I cant work out what's going on with the Pan European.

One group over here in the UK reckon that Honda have confiremd that they are discontinuing it. (I cant find anything that says this though)
It appears in the 2012 line up on their web site.
It now seems to be a sports-tourer again.
This advert seems to be hyping it up much more than I have seen before. (I'm glad mine is one of the quietly powerful, understated models !)
Ages back the police forces over here got rid of their P-spec Pans following the death of a police rider due to the weave. Having nearly sold them all, the same force is now buying brand new standard spec Pans.

I thought that maybe one day I would buy the new model of Pan. I wonder if it will ever materialise ?

Still - its nice to know that Honda think they got it so right at the outset that the same model can continue like this. (Actually, it was pretty close) And they do have flooded factories and radiation to contend with.

Personally, more years = more parts.
I'd bet some feel somehow less validated (maybe not the right word) they don't have a current model?
I have a 40yr old vtvm that is better for some things than a new 20,000 count digital multimeter.

Not to split hairs but I believe that reference was to the Model T. But on the other hand both my Model A and my ST are indeed black.

I like the front ABS timing ring on my '07 better. Old time quality right there.
I thought I was nuts paying almost $15k. Looks like I was. Got a silver one. :)

Recession is affecting everyone. It is disappointing they're releasing a new adventure tourer and not an St. I wonder if sporttourers are going to be replaced by adventure bikes? Maybe it's a style thing?

I believe that the police market has saved the ST1300 for awhile longer. Big seller in CA. I do wish they'd make a few improvements, even incremental ones. But when a bike is perfect......

Honda will support the 1300 until 2022 in parts and service. Until the recent release of the '12 model it was until 2020. Or something to this effect.
