Good morning everyone

I'll type quietly so as not to disturb your sleep, but the coffee's ready for you- Cubano roast by Mayorga Roasters once again.

It's 64°F and foggy in Rockville. There's a sheen of moisture on the grass and leaves and some of the pavement, but there are dry spots here and there as well so if it rained overnight it must not have amounted to all that much. Mostly sunny and a high around 82 is on tap for the day.

I did virtually nothing yesterday. Maybe today will be different, who can tell?

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Thanks Keith. Black Rifle here, if anyone wants a variety this morning. Couple more attendees, and we may have a coffee bar happening.
Had a funny - and nice - thing happen to me as I went into a convenience store on the way home after work Friday afternoon.
I customer in front of me was paying for a 6- pack of Heineken, and he saw me in my helmet and jacket, looked out the glass doors and said, "Hey -- nice bike."
I replied, "Thanks, I like it a lot. And I was just thinking, a cold beer would sure taste good right now (it was 96° out), but I have to get home before I have one."
He said, "Here, have this! as he tried to stuff it in my half-zipped jacket."
I said Really?, he said yeah, smiled, and I took the bottle from him with many thanks.
The cashier put it in a plastic bag for me (container laws, etc.), and I stuck it in a pocket of my panniers.
Though it would be very nice to have one after cutting the grass Saturday morning.
And it was. (More later, I'm getting ahead of myself.)
Friday evening after work and after i had put my Heinie (the one in the bottle, silly) in the fridge, I replaced the fan motor switch, and tried to fill the radiator. It got too dark to finish, so Saturday morning I went to finish the job.
The new radiator neck has a molded-in baffle in the filler neck, making it impossible to actually see the top of the radiator fins inside.
Annoying.
Started the car, and the fans still never came on. The temp needle went to HOT.
Damn.
I jumpered the wiring harness side again, and the fans both came on.
Did I have a new switch, DOA?
I added more coolant, a half pint at a time, so as not to overfill it. (If only I could see the top of the radiator, inside!)
Saw coolant at the bottom of the filler neck, and the overflow tank was still at MAX.
Crawled back under the car, and found various drops of coolant on various parts of the engine. Cleaned them all up and went to try again.
After idling for eight and a half minutes, both fans kicked on, and continued to run till I turned off the motor at 15 minutes.
SUCCESS!
Finally.
No parts left over.
No missing parts either.
I paid for two new radiator hoses (not necessary), a new radiator, 2 gallons of coolant, a radiator fan switch... and a new battery, unrelated to the above.
But my labor was free, and learning a new skill has to be worth something. 🤣
After that I cut the front yard and enjoyed a free beer.
After a shower, had a brief a 2-hour nap until Roz woke me up to go to our great-nephew's first birthday party.
That was uneventful.
Today I may or may not cut the back yard.
But I will have another refill.
The 10mm socket: It vanishes into another dimension the second you look away.
Easy jobs: They do not exist. Every simple fix turns into a three-day project.

Good morning, all, and thanks for the cafe cubano, Keith!

We have a cloudy sky with patches of blue this morning, and a pleasant temp of 20°C/68°F. The clouds will get thicker and the patches of blue will eventually disappear, and we'll have rain for the rest of the day with a good chance of thunderboomers into the late afternoon/evening and a high of 23°C/73°F that will feel like 28°C/82°F.

Goldie has a sweet face, Joe, she's a cutie!

Welp, I'd best get a move on. Chores to do, breakfast to eat and a video call with my bestie in Toronto in a bit. Everyone have a good one, stay safe and go safely.

Patty

Morning all, and thanks for the coffee, Keith.

20 and rain here. We're under a significant rainfall alert. Rain, possible thunderstorms and potential rainfall rates in excess of 15mm per hour. Total amounts will vary based on how long said cells sit overhead. It's definitely muggy out.

Yesterday's temporary homecoming party for Thing2 was a success, held in the same format as our normal Summer holiday parties. We had about two dozen folks show up. We even had enough burgers, dogs and salads to feed everyone. (It's been close a few years when extra folks show up unannounced.)

Today is cleanup day. No rush though.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday.

Obo.

Good morning and thanks for the coffee start, Keith. I don't know the name of whatever we're drinking here, but it's tasty and drip.

Congratulations on your new family member, Joe. may you enjoy many years of love and companionship with both of them.

It's 63 and cloudy in Oregon this morning , heading to 80 with more clouds, later.

Yesterday, we got off to a late-ish start , but still managed a trip to Top Golf, then the pinball arcade/museum, THEN the Columbia employee store. Veterans are among the allowed groups, so my card got us in, and we all did some shopping there . all three venues were within 10 minutes of each other , so there wasn't a lot of driving , once we got to the Golf place.

Today looks like a rest day, and maybe a laundry /packing day .

Enjoy your day ,
Steve

G'mornin' from SoMD!

What would happen if I mixed together all the coffee offerings? I would be one wired-up fella but unable to pick only one thing to work on! Thanks, gents!

Yesterday was a washout. Rain/storms were predicted all day, but instead we got morning rain, then nice and sunny, then nighttime storms. Clocked over 2 inches yesterday alone and blew past our monthly average. We are definitely not hurting for rain now, but outside stuff could've gotten done. Instead, I napped. The lawn needs mowing too, but it's still too wet & soggy. This coming week is looking dry, so a few day's wait and it'll be ready to mow.

The mowers are gone but other projects await. Too many for my ADD brain to pick one. The last day or so I've focused on a Craftsman clock (not the wooden kind, the tool brand) I bought for the office. It has a neon ring that doesn't work, so I got it for a lower price than ones that did work. The clock part works though. Cracked the cover open and found the power board to be pretty fried. I have a few replacement components coming but I fear the transformer is shot...much harder to locate a replacement. We'll see. If not, welp, I'll just have to give it up and enjoy it as is though it being in my office I think a bright red ring would be quite a distraction. But the OCD in me wants to know that it works, ugh!

Anyhow, hope everyone has a great day as summer comes to an end. Cooler temps and crappier traffic with school starting up again. Take care y'all!

Morning Keith & All from sunny, Southern Utah!

There are a few clouds in the sky, but threats of thunderstorms are still around, but I doubt if we'll see any of them! North Utah, got hit pretty good yesterday!

Currently it is 86F, heading for 91F. A breeze is blowing from the SW @ around 8mph, and later, the winds will be blowing between 15 & 24mph.

Congrats on the new leader of the house, Joe! ;)

I finished my notes for my today's talk at church, but after seeing the other two that are talking before me, I'll probably have to do the Reader's Digest version.

Besides that, I verified that I have all those that have signed up so far, for WeSTOC 30, on my list for the dinners.

Boiled eggs, bacon, toast & OJ with hot Lemon & Honey tea, to start off the morning. I can throw in a couple of Pepsis, into the Coffee mix, should make a awful drink. LOL

Anyone :dr13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

Good Morning, Happy Sunday. Congratulations Joe and may you have many years of enjoyment with the new pup! Now back to the weather,17 C off and on Rain drying up this afternoon. High 21 by 5 pm. We had a impressive lighting and thunder storm last night, thankfully power stayed on. Happy to report the new rad cap on Lady has fixed the rad being low and the overflow tank being high. Engine temperature is also staying more steady. Speaking of Lady, I was asked if She was a new bike, made me proud, impressive for a 30 year old. Well not much else going on today, so y'all have fun, G

Good afternoon all!
Thanks for the start, Keith!
We departed Nova Scotia just after 9AM yesterday, arrived in Burlington, Ontario about 3PM today. An easy day yesterday, today’s drive wasn’t stellar by any means!

Congrats on the new family additions @Mellow!
The little one won’t take long to rule the roost!

Time for a wee nap!
