LD Comfort Riding Shorts

I have tried several of the "cheaper alternatives". On short trips, not a whole lot of difference. Once you start doing some extended riding, the LD shorts are worth what they cost. I don't leave home without them.

LD Comfort is the best stuff on the planet! After WeSTOC we've been to Sonoma, Santa Cruz, Moro Bay and are currently in Carmel. It was 108 in Sonoma the other day and I was fine in my shorts and long sleeved LD Comfort gear. Can't say enough good about it!!

If you get a pair of the LDComfort Riding Shorts you will see where there is no comparrison to any other "motorcycle underwear". Once you really know the difference then you can get a second pair and never have to worry about it again. Done! There is a discount code for the ST-Owners forum. I think it might be in the vendor section. The code is still valid for shipping. Thanks so much for helping me fix the link in my signature. :)
Enjoy evey mile.

LOl, no comparison in prices either. Bike shorts working just fine for me. :D

PS, Yes, I do 1000 mile days.

Ever do two 1000 mile days? In a row? How about 3 one thousand mile days....in a row? How about 12,000 miles in 11 days? How about 10,600 miles in less than a week? Yes, 10,636 miles in under 7 days with ONE pair of LDComfort Riding Shorts, with out so much as a blister. Never a thought about seating comfort. Yes, bicycle shorts are better than cotton tighty whities. Still...try to wash and dry them in five minutes and make them last for 200,000 miles. For the money, if you do the math you will find that mile for mile.....(I'll let you do the math.) Comfort counts for EVERY mile. But you know what? You gotta be happy and I think you are.

Enjoy every mile. ??~

I use Under Armour compression shorts. They work well for me.

+1 (Heatgear)

I also use the compression shirts, long- and short sleeve. I really like them, and the cost is somewhat lower. If you hunt around, you can get a pair of UA shorts and UA upper for the same price as a pair of LD shorts. And yes, I use LD shorts also :D.

I haven't tried any of these, but have heard about odor issues with polyester/nylon moisture-wicking fabrics. Any comments from users?
I've also heard that merino wool is the best moisture-wicking material, no odor issues.

I think that with most clothing items, everyne is shaped different and has different skin types, seat types, weather conditions. I myself can't use the LD Comfort Shorts. I have tried them several times and the center flat seam just kills my private parts. I called Mario about my problems but he did not really come up with any fixes other than saying I could try women,s shorts as the seam was different and he wanted to charge me a restocking fee for the shorts, that did not work for me so I went and tried some different types of shorts. The LD Shorts feel like a saw cutting into my skin after a couple of hours. I also sweat like crazy in them and they are damp all the time, though I do sweat a lot. I tried the compression shorts, under armour, and several other brands like the EVS and Thor brands and I find that the non-cotton based compression shorts are significantly better for me, I stay much cooler and drier. I particularly like the compression shorts with the crotch pad without the flat seam running down the middle of my underside. So far I am much happier now and 500 plus mile days even in extremely high temps don't bother me. The price of the compression shorts like the Thor brand are much lower. I have found the EVS and Thor compression shorts with the pad on Ebay for as little as 11.00 each. I have come to like these so much that I even wear them to work everyday when I am not rifding my bike. Just my .02.

I bought a pair of the UA compression shorts (heat gear). They certainly helped on a 600 mile ride I did shortly after.

Easy to wash out in a sink at the end of the day and they dry quickly.

Prob get set of shirts as well.

Can't comment on the LD product.

LDcomfort products are overpriced but I guess most motorcycle specific products are. We need more competition for products like this to drive the prices down. I own two pair of LD shorts, one short sleeve shirt, one long sleeve shirt and one pair of long tights.

I've found that they don't dry out very fast after washing them in the sink at night. They are still wet in the morning. I even hang them over the air conditioner after wringing them out with a towel. :( The ends of the sleeves and legs or whatever is hanging the lowest pool the water and that area is still wet. Not a big deal in the summer though. ;)

They do work great for evaporative cooling though. I've gotten chilled before after soaking them in water while riding in 107 degree Nevada heat.

Well ya got me there Mario. I don't use a single pair of shorts for more than two days before I put on a clean pair. I think your point is that one pair of LD Shorts over 11 days is more cost effective than several pair of good ole bicycle shorts. Can't argue that one. There is just something nice about changing into a machine washed pair every few days that all the $math in the world won't change. Just the same, I decided to give your product a fair shake and order up one. But the cost won't make it effective for me to replace all my bicycle shorts (since the only argument comes down to using one pair for a whole trip.)

Cotton tends to dry very slowly and has very poor wicking properties. Not a good choice next to your skin, hot or cold riding. So if you use regular T-shirts and regular cotton undies when you ride (on longer trips), you're missing out. Get you some good base layer clothing and I promise you will say "why didn't I get this stuff earlier?"

All I can say is that I love my LD Comfort shorts. No complaints at all.
