LD Comfort Riding Shorts

As a second choice to the LD shorts, do people get the UnderArmor underwear or the compression shorts?

I have two pair, one is cotton for about 30 bucks. The other one is the one shown on their web site. I can't tell any difference between the two, they both work great. I would say they are worth the money.

Just returned from an SS1000 and was wearing the LD Comfort Riding Shorts I purchased a few weeks ago.

I will have to say that the LD Comfort Riding Shorts DO WORK. I have tried many styles of compression shorts and different fabric. Either they are too bulky or too thin and slippery. Either they do not wick moisture away or irritate my inner thighs. All to say the LD Shorts are the best I have ever tried.

Just bought a pair of the shorts and a short sleve t-shirt for myself.
Also bought a pair of the shorts for my wife.

Looking forward to trying them out.
I will report back.

I just bought a pair and did 2 600 mile days this week with no burning arse. I will be ordering another pair or two. They worked great for me.

Do they really control the sweating? I sweat really bad down there in the summer, even after 100 miles. I use powder which help but still make baking shorts wet.

Ok so here is my report back.
Worth every penny!
As mentioned before no burning *** after a 300 mile ride today.

Yes they control the sweat very well.
They did not solve the issue with a seat being a rock but helped out a ton.

The shirt worked well also.

Get your self a pair your butt will thank you.

Friends, I know it has been a year since this post came up but I wanted to point out there are some changes to the website for the LDComfort Riding Shorts. There are videos that explain how they work. If you watch the video on the dual layer fabric you will understand why the LDComfort is better than any single layer polypro, etc (UA). You can see how you will stay dry even with the garment wringing wet. You do NOT need powder to absorb moisture as that is the job of the undergarment. Notice there are NO seams in the seating area. Soon we will have a video that shows how to use the LDComfort Long Sleeve Shirt as a cooling garment to help you get through the 120 degree desert. Some of you already know the trick. Anyway....see the videos so you know WHY LDComfort works the best. BTW: If you can make the LDComfort Riding Shorts work for over 200,000 miles that makes them the best deal on the market. Still made in the USA. Hugs...Mario

I’ve done over 85,000 miles with the LD shorts. I’m ordering a couple more pair, Not because of use but because I’ve lost weight. I know they’re not cheap but when you consider the miles, still a great deal. My originals have been my first choice for many 1000+ mile days on my ST1300 ((Spencer seat)) and long days on the KLR ((Stock seat)). In any case, LD has my vote.

Not to hijack the thread away from the LDComfort shorts (I love the shorts), but I can also attest to the long sleeves. I don't have the long sleeve top, that's next, but I do have the pull up sleeves. Soak them in water and put on your Roadcrafter, or whatever you wear for protection, open up the cuffs, get your speed up to move the air through, and voila!, air conditioning. I've never been so comfortable in the heat (110 going through Paso Robles yesterday) before the LDComfort sleeves. I'm sold!!

Again with the overpriced stuff! Mr. Thrifty says " go to Wal Mart and pick up a pair of their 80% nylon/20% Spandex undershorts - for about $8. (CDN). They feel like silk and have flat seams. They also hand wash in a sink and dry overnight. As for increasing rider comfort, they're great. They keep me cool and dry all day.

Now ride in those shorts for 200,000 miles and see how well they work. Add up how many 8 dollar shorts you will buy before you finish that task. Then too, your skin will NOT stay dry. You didn't even go see the video, did you? And...I'll bet you 50 bucks they're NOT as comfortable as LDComfort. How do those flat seams feel across your moisture tenderized skin? How about when you decide to ride 3,000 miles in 3 days? How great will that be in 120 degrees? But....It's your butt and your wallet. It must be the right thing for you. Not everyone buys the same helmet either. Some wear a cheap novelty helmet no better than a kid's beach pail and think they are just fine. Some people ride in shorts and flip flops and have a good time....for awhile. Some people pound monkey butt powder into their butt cracks until they fart dust and think they're fine. Some people buy single layer cheapie polyester shorts with seams in the seating area and think they are fine. You are not comparing a product that is even close. Butt....I still love you and I want you to enjoy every mile. :)

I rode to the BMW/MOA rally in bicycling shorts,<under my Tourmaster Caliber pants>. then bought a pr. of LDs at the rally to wear back<650mi>. Both were a big improvement over just wearing briefs. The LDs are more $$<49.00>, but they can be washed/dried more easily.

Mario, you make some good points. Check your link though (font error).

Good shorts are an essential part of my touring gear. I need to give the LD comfort shorts a try. Although I've found any synthetic better than cotton briefs, the cheap stuff is really hit or miss. Some ride (or roll) up in the legs, some don't wick moisture very well, and some have too thin material. Spent too much on cheap shorts which just don't do it for all-day riding, day after day, week after week. The only compression shorts I've really liked (Reebok Hydromove) are no longer available.

So, Mario;), any fall specials coming up on shorts or discount codes for ST-owners that I should be aware of before placing my order?

If you get a pair of the LDComfort Riding Shorts you will see where there is no comparrison to any other "motorcycle underwear". Once you really know the difference then you can get a second pair and never have to worry about it again. Done! There is a discount code for the ST-Owners forum. I think it might be in the vendor section. The code is still valid for shipping. Thanks so much for helping me fix the link in my signature. :)
Enjoy evey mile.

i bought a couple pairs of the LD shorts, not really much better than other cheaper alternatives thay i have tried. Most recently the Jockey sport 'pouch' does the job for me at less than half the price. But I do not ride 1,000 km a day, (I prefer a convertible on longer trips due to back issues)
