Grounding straps on cars and grounding chains on big rigs... Ah yes I remember them well. Antenna tread?? I'd like to see some confirmation from Pirelli or similar.

Ditto for me as well. Thanks for the skepticism... made me dig a little deeper to find that Bridgestone PDF. ;)

Wonder why you folks were skeptical? Back when I used to operate a fork lift I'd get some nasty shocks off of that thing after using it for even a few minutes. The fork lift manufacturer told us about the tires and static build up when we complained, they came out and re-fitted a grounding strap that apparently had become displaced. No problems after that. Also, a quick google search finds a lot of patents in this area from major tire manufacturers.
