I have a 2010 ST1300 and I'm reading a lot of different sources/information for LED Light bulb replacements for my headlight (with some contradictions). It's September 2022.....Does anyone know what the latest and greatest LED bulb 'that fits' is and where to buy it? I'm willing to pay for quality if someone out there in ST Owners world can vouch for a particular brand. Thanks!

Over the past 3-4 years,,, I have used two pair of F2 bulbs. The lighting is phenomenal,,, and the cost is less than premium H4's. I just received another pair for my new bike,,, so you could rightly say that I am a fan,,, cheers,,, CAt'

I will also give that a try.
I'm not sure why Cindy seems to have fallen out of favor (Evitek). I bought 3 pair of their LED's earlier this year and the cost seems to run half of what Amazon charges - I paid in the $30+ range per pair. Given the hype on Amazon's pages, and my admitted lack of intimacy with the various brands (translation - I cannot tell them apart unless you give me a labeled lamp and others to compare to that one - certainly not by looking at pictures on a web page) I've chosen to go with what was at one point the highly recommended Evitek brand. Their shipping was reasonably fast, Cindy did drop the ball for me on one of my orders and I had to follow up with another email to prompt her, but both shipments came within 10 days of placing the order. I thought that was worth saving from $30 and up. YMMV

I would agree as well Peter. I bought new bulbs for my pickup last year from Cindy and like you, I found the prices much better than Amazon. I think what may be the issue is that you dont just "add to cart" and wait. You have to reach out by email and wait for a response from her and then place an order. Could take a day or so.

New guy here, who is Cindy?
I believe I saw that name on here for another source of headlights to purchase from. Again, who is she? :)
Short answer, Cindy is the woman who answers your emails to Evitek. Evitek is a manufacturer in China of LED lamps. Well, I should qualify this. I don't KNOW if they manufacture lamps from scratch, if they source the LED from someone else or if they just plaster their name on ready made lamps. They are, however, a purveyor of LED lamps for cars and bikes. Go to their website and look around. Evitek.com

Longer Story: Way back in the dark incandescent ages, @spiderman302 started experimenting with the LED lamps manufactured then. He found they had no cut-off and tended to blind oncoming drivers. With his background in lighting, he started experimenting by using aluminum foil to block the light from part of the LED. After coming up with something that worked, he talked to Evitek in China and they were receptive to incorporating his ideas on their lamps. Cindy was one of his contact people over there. This is my understanding based on reading the LED threads here. Did I get most of this right, @spiderman302? Please set the record straight if I'm wrong.

Here is one thread w/ info on the various iterations of lamps - read post #1. Note that the F2, F3 descriptors are Evitek specific, they are NOT an industry standard. Ask someone in another company for a F2 style lamp and he(she) will look at you strangely. Read my post #77 on page 4:
This is the definitive thread on LED's. You would do well to read the whole thing. Despite all our info here, the industry is still developing and we are getting better lamps than ever. New ones have more light output (lumens per watt of power) than the early ones. But, until I read otherwise, 20,000 lumens from 100 watts is hyperbole.
Another thread - read what Spiderman wrote in my post #2
More good info on LED lighting, but not exactly on topic.
And, for you guys who feel left out....

If you are still with me, Cindy's email is: cindy@evitekhid.com Her name is Cindy Zhou

You read my mind! :)

sorry, cindy zhou
cindy@evitekhid.com

you send her an email telling her what you want and she sends you a price and a paypal link to pay. She should then send a shipping notification, but she is not the most reliable at relaying information. The stuff ships from China, but it is (in my experience) fast for China shipping, but not days like amazon may be. Overall, I would order from her again, for the savings.
... and the bulbs are good quality. @spiderman302 can tell you more but I believe they are one of the higher quality manufacturers out there

I was a bit long winded. Thank you, Brent. All of Evitek's shipments came to me by air, and by a well known carrier - was it DHL? I freely admit to being overwhelmed by Amazon and their hype and prefer desling with a company i've had good luck with in the past.

Been using Cyclopse for about the last 2-3 years. Have put over 25k on them with no issues. They have an option to get the ST1300 adapter on them. I will say installing an LED is not plug and play, they are hard to reach even with small hands! These have worked great and held up under all kinds of condition including 100+ degree riding days.

I used F2's and have moved to F3's. Phenomenal light output.
Just came back from the badlands, I could see every antelope on the side of the highways.

Lots of good options out there now.

Just remember that you have to cut off the bottom two tabs on the H4 mounting ring to fit in the ST1300.

So, I bought the lights on Amazon. I've cut the two tabs off the bottom and have managed to remove the bulb on one side of the headlight. Two questions:
1. How were you able to maneuver /navigate the wire clip around the little fan on the back of the LED light?
2. What did you do about the rubber boot that goes on the back. Were you able to fit it around the light or did you have to cut it open?

Cool. Thanks a bunch! I'll give it a try.
This thread illustrates the tab orientation differences if you have to bend or remove the lower tabs.
