Mirror glass

You might want to run a bit of fine sand paper over the back of the mirror to scuff it up just to give the silicone something to adhere to a little better. Clean everything well with alcohol and try not to touch the surfaces where the silicone will be applied.
The silicone will be cured enough to hold the glass in place within a couple of hours, but if you can leave it for a day, all the better.

Say it ain’t so double P. I figured all the history you and Red have you’d be impossible to break apart. Ship it if you can’t tow it or ride it. Heck once you move, fly back and ride it out west. But make sure you do it when there is snow in the forecast, like old times.
It breaks my heart. My red has been better to me than my ex wife! Ill b looking for another bike as soon as i get settled there. Ive always wanted to do the Baha, so the next bike might not be a 1100. Everything is up in the air now.

I moved a little more than a year ago. The thought of selling or leaving my old friend behind (my 1100) never crossed my mind. Every stick of furniture would have been left behind but not my trusty campanion:dr11:

I know exactly what u mean, and id be on my way there on it if it was a single issue. But, its a bit of a mess there and im moving to support my kids, who are stuck with these issues.

I doubt ill b not too long without a bike!

The Voice Of Reason about selling your ST1100 - YOU'LL BE SORRY!!!!!

Colorado sounds great for a place to move to- up in the mountains I assume (or at least near them)? If you can’t sell the ST, how about short term storage until you can ride it out to CO?

All options are open and im learning more every day. Yea, ill b in the Rocky's. 7200 ft. If i cant sell my red, i ll have to keep it and figure something out. But, ive been watching the bike market here all winter and im pretty sure there is a buyer out there.

At least it's the best time of year to sell. And I'm sure most of us have regretted selling a bike(-s) in our riding journeys.
The good news, is they're always available when it's time for the next one.
Including ST's if that's what you want.
Good luck with the sale and the move.

I had sold my 2004 ST 1300 2 years ago, saw it again on craiglist and got it back. Shouldn't have sold it in the 1st place. Had too many wonderful memories of trips. Won't ever leave again, will pore cement around tires and mount a mailbox on the back when I can't ride any more.
Did have mirrors cut by local glass company and cost me 30 dollars, had to make my own pattern, Put them in with a small bead of silicone around edge as they were not convex glass. Work just fine. Have to turn head a bit further, oh well

I quickly learned to look over my shoulder twice, every time. Almost side swiped a dump truck in texas once. That certainly perked me up! Gonna use black silicone instead. Many thanks.

wonder how close the glass from a Interstate Silverwing / Goldwing fairing would be? Doh have both will go compare.

Well ,to answer my own question. Interstate fairing mirrors are 1/2 inch longer horizontaly and 1/2 inch thinner Vertically . Close but no Cigar.

Hey guys isn't there anyone willing to ride his bike out to Colorado?
I was up all night trying to think about how i can keep my red. I realized i need three decent paint contracts and ill have what i need to move. So, i changed my advertising strategy this morning a bit and will see what happens. Its gotta happen fast tho!
