Commuting is unpaid labor they'd convinced you being 'part of the job'... :coffee:

G'Day...

17°/29°C, mostly sunny... 🌤️

Nespresso at ze GF's... ☕

Commute yuck...
Office yuck... at least there is Nescafé... ☕

Sunday was different...
at the crack of dawn I got accompanied by the cat snuggling up... 🐱
snoring to the left of me, purring to the right... here I am... 💤
at 0630hrs the alarm went off, as intended... ⏰
by 0730hrs we hit the road, ze GF had located and insisted on a 150 mile practice route around north of Vienna...
empty streets, empty roads... partially cloudy, no hard sun, a nice refreshing breeze... me in my mesh 2-piece...
we crossed through "little Texas" in the northeast: oil pumps and wind turbines... yes, we have those...
no longhorns or pickups through, fields with sunflowers instead 🌻 = more oil...
we circled west, roads winding over gentle hills, through farm- and woodland...
literally no traffic... wabbits, deer, various bird-life staring at the two red bikes purring by...

back at her place after 1130hrs, had lunch (plum dumplings), and then we actually took a nap 😴... a definite sign of getting old... 😒
I never "napped", nor intended to, ever... 🤔

later in the afternoon daughter #1 and her BF showed up, taking custody of her cat again... who attempted avoiding capture by hiding deep behind the guest room foldout...
Well, I'm gonna miss having that fury little bugger around... ;)

have a bearable start into the week... 😎

Monday?
Already!?!?
Something's wrong with the sun and moon and astrophysics, or there's a wrinkle in the fabric of time.
Weeks getting longer, while weekends getting shorter. It's just not fair.
Coffee isn't helping with adding time, but it seems to make all this chicanery nad nonsense more bearable.
It's early still, so I've done nothing big yet but make a pot of Black Rifle.
Likely my smartest and most productive act of the day.
Rain and storms scheduled by someone for today, and rain most of the week. Temps don't matter. It's hot, will stay hot, but I'm going to work anyway.
Best make sure the rain gear is in the saddlebag, not hanging up in the garage.
Ten minutes before it's time to feed the cat herd.
And nearly time for the first refill.
Can't miss that, or a disaster is possible with frightening consequences.
And no one wants that.
Avoid disaster.
Drink your coffee.

Morning all, and thanks Martin for the startup.

20 and some sun out there currently, headed to a cloudy 23 later on.

Slept almost an extra 4 hrs this morning, what with not having to go to work.... but was up last night after midnight. After yesterday's house chores, Mrs. O. wanted to get out for a ride, so we departed mid afternoon and were gone for about 5 hours. We stopped at a Kelsey's Roadhouse for supper, where the kitchen got my order wrong and had to redo it. The "correct" grilled chicken breast was like chewing rubber, so I left most of it on my plate. I did however get an "Oh, I'm sorry the second one wasn't to your liking."

More vacation honey-do's on the list. Let's see what the magic number is that can get as few done as possible but still make everyone happy. :rofl1:

Enjoy your Moanday.

Obo.

Thx Martin!
Sounds like you had a real nice sunday!
I’ve already forgotten yesterday…omg!

Today I’ve been on 9 errands, now to cut down some brushes and small trees blocking our view.

Mrs Stu has gone to the beach for a swim….yesterday there was a cold current visiting from far north, sea temp was 11˚c/52f, no swim for me yet, no sir!

Air temp today is 17˚c/63, sunny, quite calm for once, a nice day!

Have a good one!
Stu

Good Morning, Thanks Martin for getting us together. Moanday you say, or the day before Garbage day. Does feel like a Work Monday, or should I say my body feels like it. Made my bed and opened the gate, and made and eat my breakfast, now to slurp down my second cup of coffee. So last evening pulled and cleaned the Carbs and installed a new fuel filter on the bike. Hopefully today get to test ride it, and have gotten rid of the intermittent rough idle. Looking decent outside, some where around 60 F high, who knows. Okay Y'all have a good day G

Morning Martin & All from cloud covered Southern Utah.

Currently it is 80F, heading for 95F. We got a weird storm, out of nowhere. It dropped 0.04" of the wetstuff and then pushed on to the northwest. A second one, just a few hours later, missed us by a couple of miles to the south. Lots of lightning though. Today, possibly the same. We have a slight breeze now, but later, the winds will be out of the WNW @ 8 to 9mph.

Today, Chris wants to plant some Iris's in a spot that doesn't have dirt, nor water. And where I do have dirt and water, is NOT where she wants them! :mad-2x: Well see where they wind up!

Eggs, bacon, toast & OJ to start the morning. Pepsi(s) on the menu for later.

Anyone :bl13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

Meanwhile, no opportunity like the present;
can finally finish that bit of landscaping in the corner and empty those 45 gallon drums
It's where opportunity meets preparation
Wish everyone a good one, check your tires and check your brakes
That's what tractors are for.
Some folks around here (me not included) have one or more, so maybe you can borrow one.
I've never enjoyed digging in the dirt, but some do.
Working on a farm at a young age has turned me against it.

Yawn.

Thanks for the coffee, Martin.

It's far too late for that now- 1530 local time- but I overslept this morning and had to run out without any brew in order to be on time for goof.

Yesterday I started making a "box with a latch" as per the instructions from RAGBRAI on how they want CPAP machines packaged for handling during next week's bike tour. Have you priced Pelican cases recently??! It seemed much cheaper to build my own using materials leftover from previous shop projects. For the whopping investment of about $5 for hinges and a latch I now have a sturdy walnut-and-plywood box that should keep my CPAP machine safe and comfy.

I'll do laundry and pack tomorrow, then hit the road Wednesday morning heading for Dubuque. I've planned the drive so that most of the mileage gets covered Wednesday, with an additional night in DeKalb IL where I did my undergraduate work in a past millennium. I've not been back since, so I'm curious to see how much I recognize and still remember.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.
