I think I'm on the right thread. Just curious, getting ready to tear the rear end down on my s. TI noticed they discontinued. The Molly 60 paste does anyone know of an equivalent? I know the 77 doesn't hold up on spline shafts very well, does anybody have an equivalent that will match the Molly 60. If so, please let me know, thank you.

At least one member on here has been using this product for years and if it is who I think it is he now has over 400,000 miles on his ST1300. As far as I can recall he has never reported any spline damage. I'm pretty sure that that member was Raymond @W0QNX. Hopefully he can confirm.

If I remember correctly the specification is 3 grams but I am not sure without looking it up. Don't be overly concerned about the quantity. The idea is to make sure that all of the surfaces are lightly and completely coated to ensure that all surfaces are protected, whatever that quantity turns out to be. Putting more than a light coat and the excess only gets flung off, makes a mess everywhere, and that excess accomplishes nothing.

So... what I find is the Loctite's seems to not be thick enuff and the TS-60 is more like clay.... what do I do?
I mix some of the TS-60 with some of the Loctite in a shot glass to get it where I like it...

Moly 77 separates in the tube so you knead the tube first to mix it and it then works as recommended by Honda. Moly 77 superseded Moly 60 at least 10 years ago and the sky has not yet fallen on the unknown multitudes of Honda vehicles using it.

Yes and No. I've used the TS70 and it has been great for me. I've used it since my Valkyrie days way back in like 2005ish.

However, the spline joint is definitely a wear point on the rear hub of the bike. I did replace my original rear drive at 339,610 miles because it was showing maybe 30% wear and I was able to obtain another complete LOW mileage (24,000?) rear unit for CHEAP ($90?).

FYI TS60 is 60% molybdenum disulfide and called "grease".

TS70 is called "paste" and is 70% moly. 70% moly is a bit thicker and in my opinion less likely to move off the splines.

More: The orings are important as they control the migration of the spline lube. The spline joint becomes a sealed joint when the orings push things together as designed. I always used extra plenty and didn't worry if it was really too much. Only so much stays inside between the orings and the extra just slings out to somewhere...

Add PASTE at every tire change. If it's a regular motorcycle tire that will be under 16,000 probably if you it's a car tire I actually did drop the tire out every 30,000 miles just to be sure. Car tire may last longer than that.

Speaking of car tires, I darksided my wing, how does the st ride with the car tire and is it a run flat, thanks
