Hi recently completed my trailer build from scratch.felt i wanted to show the world so here are some pics.
2013-06-21 19.40.21.jpgmocked up the trailer using box section and my car topper box.
2013-06-25 17.13.13.jpgbuilt my chassis and heaped lots of chassis black paint onto it.
2013-06-25 17.13.20.jpgfound some rattle cans remarkably close to the colour of the bike and gave the box several coats then a clear laquer
2013-07-03 16.59.11.jpgtook her out on land trials.behaved very well.recently had bad weather here so not much riding has been done :( so farkle time:)
2014-01-22 18.55.08.jpgi re profiled the plastic fenders (mudguards here in uk) with my dremel and then hit them with the rattle cans.added two strips of led either side at the front (you can never be to visible)and mounted a couple of sharkfin stabalisers with led inserts. These help the trailer to track straight and true at 100mph plus speeds.not really but the devil and idle hands etc
2014-01-22 18.54.43.jpgfound some great pan STickers on fleabay
2014-02-09 11.50.24.jpg2014-02-09 11.51.11.jpg2013-12-06 15.02.08.jpgi finally did some tilt tests to see how far it would go before binding on the hitch,as i debated for days ...swivel or not.finally decided swivel not needed.then did a load test it weighs 220lbs fully loaded.i thought i was finished.....but then i found this the missing piece for the perfect camping trip:wave1:
2014-02-19 09.18.48.jpegcant wait to go.
thanks for reading had to share ive been in the mancave for weeks swmbo thinks ive already left for europe camping.

I've found that a swivel is not needed unless either the trailer or the bike flips completely over! DAMHIKT!!!

Nice looking trailer. Do you have a vender for the gas can I think that I need one too. You know just for emergencies. ;)

i spotted the can bar on the web some where and saved the pic. i will watch fleabay for one hehehe
forgot to add a big thank you to the forum as building the trailer and the hitch would not have been possible without all the info gleaned from here:bow1:

Looks like a good job!
You can now haul all your necessities and then some.
Enjoy your travels with your new trailer.

Very nice work! Enjoy the extending camping you get to have with all that extra storage space!

That looks great, I've been thinking about having my brother make me one. Now I really want one!

hi. thanks for the comments not many this side of the pond seem keen on trailer towing except the odd wing owner.
i cant wait for my annual europe foray, last year was a little cramped in my tent and no fun trying to de robe wet through in a tent 3feet high.
but this year ive got a BIG ONE takes 25 mis to erect but i plan to use it as abase to travel from so i may only move it once or twice.
heres last years2013-05-31 14.53.00.jpg

and this years2013-07-12 13.45.49.jpg :D

Nice job, I am gathering the materials to do the sane. Who us the tent manufacture, I have bee looking at tent from across the pond. You guys have a very different choice of tents

Hi STony g had a look its a hi-gear Windamere 5.its a great tent supposedly sleeps up to 5. has inner bedroom and is tall enough for me (6ft) to stand in the living area.It has built in groundsheet.the front can be lifted as a shade or zipped shut.i can also put my trailer in there when im off day tripping.theres one on iuk ebay at the moment for ?50 new and unused.(retail was ?150) could be expensive to post though.

Great looking trailer - how did you attach it to your bike? Tim

And here I thought they were antennas for automatic software upgrades.:rofl1:

Have you seen the Harley with a trailer video? The camp trailer had no brakes and stopping on a steep hill , it all went pear shaped till some campers saved the day .
