New to a ST1300, can't get used to the throttle!

Thank you all for the input.

and for 14 years my KTM 950 was carb'd, and in all likelihood it still is
To funny.
there's about a 99% chance it's not the bike
I always start with operator error as first cause, she was buttery smooth for 24k miles. The operator did something to cause this for sure.
Which nut ?
The nut at the clamp. I started working backwards from the grip. I may have put to much tension on everything around the tube and cables tightening up the heated grip instal. I took off a few wire ties, rolled the grip so the the least amount of tension on the tube from the wire, checked free play, and will be going out at first light with some wrenches.

Looking back at the whole throttle issue from weeks ago, I went from not enough, to too much. There is no inbetween right now, I don't have to chop it to get the snatch, just have to roll it, on or off. The good news is having power all through the range again, assuming my loss was from a loose cable.

Operator error was to blame. Did not check the throttle cables often enough to notice the nut coming loose. This caused a slow responsive throttle which I took as the new exhaust. Second, I put on the heated grips and just tightened the nut and wire tied the cables, careful not to cause binding. Well, there was quite a bit of binding, just not where I thought.

Turned the grip to relieve tension, set the free play a little less and presto, almost back to before. Thank you for supporting me through this time of crisis. A smooth throttle is the second most important to me, brakes are first.

Appreciate the description - will watch out for this as I'm about to add heated grips.
