As much as my wife hates it, I still have a set of these (in black) that I wear in the winter by the lake when it's windy. She has volunteered many times to get me something from this century but these work well enough for me. The elastic gave up a decade ago but the material still stops the wind.

Just last summer my GF disposed a set like in a color scheme this, already spoiled from various gardening and wall paint jobs... ;)

Good for you.
One thing that bullies never seem to understand is that there is always someone bigger, tougher, stronger, who will come along. Or they just don't get that when the conditions are right someone whom they have been picking on will reach the point where they are no longer willing to accept the abuse and they will be extremely highly motivated to kick the crap out of that bully.
