Hello:
Well, no wonder it perished- it's hot in Dubai!
Others have encountered the same problem (even in cold weather climates) - here are a couple of links that provide you with more information and a template to create a new one. The part is commonly called a 'heat mat'.
Under carb rubber mat
Rubber Mat Under Carbs Missing?
The template is attached to the second post. Before you start cutting rubber, assemble the template and cut the holes out of it with scissors, then fit the
paper template over your carb intake ports to make sure that it "scaled correctly" when you printed it. Sometimes, printers will change the scale of a document by a few percentage points when printing documents - best to confirm this has not happened using a paper mock-up rather than after you have cut up a piece of rubber.
Here is a direct link to downloading the template:
click here. It's a PDF. Best to print it directly from Adobe's PDF application if you have that app. When you print it, be sure to select "Actual Size" from within the print dialog box. The default selection is "fit", and you don't want that because it will for sure cause scaling difficulties. See the image below.
Chances are you will have A4 size paper, and the person who made the template PDF document used North American 8 1/2 by 11 inch "letter" size paper. If you encounter any problems with your printer asking you to insert "letter" paper, just grab 6 sheets of A4 paper and cut 17 mm off the bottom of the A4 paper. Then feed that into the printer. By cutting 17 mm off the bottom, you will fool the printer into thinking that you have loaded North American letter size paper. Don't worry about the A4 paper being 6 mm narrower than letter size, the printer won't notice that difference.
