I have these LED lights connected to the signal. I really like how well they work, but one of them has failed.

I don't remember where I bought them and now I can't find them anywhere. Anybody else use something like this?

These are the ones I have on my mirrors- they’re side emitters, so stick them in place and the light shines backwards to traffic- I’ve had them for many years and they have been reliable. They’re a little bright at night when looking in the mirror but I don’t do too much night riding these days, so I’d rather have more visibility (of me).

Thanks, I just ordered them.

Thanks again, I just finished installing them and they work great.

I would have preferred the solid amber ones, but they were out of stock so I installed the amber/white ones. These have alternating amber/white leds. I only connected the amber ones so they're not quite as bright as before (they're still plenty bright), and that also means that the mirrors will be easier to see at night.

Anyway, on nerve-wracking left turns (like lefts off of high speed roads), I will stick stick my left arm out. If they don't see my 2 flashing brake lights, 1 solid red brake light, the standard left turn signal, the bright flashing led turn signals AND my left arm sticking out, I was going to be their target regardless.

I'd posit if they don't see your '1 solid red brake light, the standard left turn signal, the bright flashing led turn signals' are they even going to notice your arm? Armed with the lighting you've added I'd just keep both hands on the bars and head on a swivel. Well if you could put LED motion turn indicators on your sleeve and gloves that would be way trick.

Another project I've thought about was putting turnsignal/taillights and dedicated brake lights on the panniers. I've been successfully able to procrastinate because of not finding waterproof quick-disconnects to my liking.

Now you're talking. As I try to fall asleep tonight I'm going to obsess think about how to do just that

What about trailer harness plugs?

Those look very useful. Do you have a picture with them on the bike. Asking for a friend (really),
You could say you're asking for me... I was wondering the same thing.
As for the LEDs, I would prefer to have them inside the mirror shell (ST1300).
More as a reminder to self that my signal is still on... while I don't mind extra visibility, *I* am my own best and first line of defense against vegetable-headed, non-thinking, blind drivers.
Haven't made the project a priority, as I rarely forget about the signal.

Just took some -

Had them installed since 2019 on 3 ST1100s and still working.
And yes they make it pretty apparent that you left your turn signal on! ;)
(*Note - I edited myself out of my adjustable spot mirrors since I was not in a proper 'state' of dress.
And the little white light in the upper righthand corner is part of my new BSD system I just installed.)

Thanks, Martin.
In context, and with more coffee, I would hope I'd have figgered it out...
I know some "modern" tech has helped some riders, but I'm glad I don't have it on my BMW 1250.
They've added this to the 1300s, though.
Not necessarily saying this is a bad thing, but my ornery old self is just plumb sick and tired of everything seemingly trying to protect me from myself!
If some of y'all like it, use it, want it, etc... that's fine.
But the constant nanny state and ultra-safety kick of society and gummint just pi$$es me off, anymore.
I already KNOW the risks of being on the road.
I already KNOW I'm responsible for myself.
I accept that risk.
Hell, LIFE is dangerous!
Leave me alone!
Rant over.

Since I had to do 3 ST1100s I chose a cheap Chinese knockoff that has the same GHZ range as the INNOV.
Time will tell how well they hold up and work.
Once I get some real world experience I'll do a thread on it.
