Up to 10 years ago, Bygdog made the crash bars I favored on all three of my STs. He's no longer in that business . . . I checked! Now I'm looking for something to protect my 'new' ST.

Searching on the site and online I've found bars made by T-Rex Racing, waase and descriptions of modifying bars made for other bikes. Didn't find reviews here from anyone who put them on their ST.

So, anyone found anything recently to recommend? I'm only interested in the rear guards to protect the tank bags.

Thanks all,

Shuey

If you find something let me know. I was thinking about buying the t-rex one that has read crash bars that go all the way around the bags and fabricating a rack to them to go over the top of the bags to tie stuff to.

I got my "crash bars" from a GoldWing trike conversion shop (much like the earlier GW footpeg source) and the adapters from Red Dirt Cowboy, who has sadly followed Bygdog into the the No Longer Available pasture.
There ARE those here who have successfully squeezed them slightly to line up with the holes in the ST passenger footrest frames on each side, but I didn't try it that way.
I'll edit this reply to add a photo when I finish lunch.

Looking forward to the install pics... the machined adapter plates and cast- off GoldWing bars, while functional, are essentially a "workaround."
The Bike Quip bars are purpose- built.

Glad that was an easy one Shuey. I’ve installed the T-Rex and Bike-Quip (current). Only had the pleasure to try the BQ. They work as expected. They are both quality kit.

I have visited T Rex racing shop when I was looking for stuff for my Yamaha T7. All the items are made in house , the employees I dealt with were great even when I decided to return and item. I will buy from them again.
