scratched a little my poor ST.

Started. Nver went so far with disassembly, almost stripped it off. All upper fairings go to the trash, mounting subframe is going to be straightened.

On the go I replaced cooling hosing and also going to replace timing belt. Not sure that I want to open water pump, hope visual inspection will be enough

Do I miss something in here? Did previous owner remove T joint hosing to carbs? Didn't find anything like that

All tires do not perform well in the cold
because cold temperatures cause the rubber to stiffen, which significantly reduces grip and stability. Cold tires have less traction, increasing the risk of skidding, especially during braking or cornering. To improve performance in cold weather, it's essential to properly inflate your tires and warm them up gradually before riding by using a combination of acceleration and braking.
  • Reduced grip: The rubber compound hardens in the cold, making it less pliable. A warm tire is more flexible and can conform to the road surface for better traction, while a cold tire sits on top of the road, decreasing grip.
I thought everyone knew this. :thumb: Ever wonder why they have tire warmers?

yes, but old and new, different tires behave differently. My mistake was that I didn't replace old metzler on time, but I shouldn't experiment with tire brands and buy it at all.

You didn’t find 4 drain hoses coming out of the bottom of the carbs and joined in to the main drain hose going down the side? I remember those hose connections making it tough to get the carbs clear of the bike until I disconnected them, I think it was a spring clamp that easily opens with needle nose pliers.

got it, thanks! I'll find it on ebay and install back, it turned out that removing and installing carb was not a dig deal.

ps I also replaced timing belt and rollers - belt was visually ok, water pump too, but rollers bad - i did video but could not managed to upload it here ) ill try to upload via youtube

Many have taken the pair system out, thinking it would make the bike perform better, I don’t recall anyone indicating there was an improvement. I’m not sure I’d bother putting it back. ST1100Y is referring to the last circle on the left of your picture, that hose should be blocked.
Edit: the corresponding inlet on the carb should be blocked too.

Not sure that old st 1100 deserves so much efforts to restore, but ..
If you like the bike as more than a assembly of parts it is worth it, If you enjoy the work as more than just assembling the parts it is worth it. Nothing to me compares to running your hands over it when it is back on the asphalt, and your hands remember the job.
Poetic enough Huh?
