I've got a brand new cowl subframe right from Japan! Unfortunately, only the non-ABS model was available, so I'll have to re-weld the mounts for the ABS module and other stuff. Sure it shouldn't be a problem. Planning to install it soon.
Sorry to hear about the damage to your bike. I'm amazed at your talent of putting it all back together. It's worth it.
I used to have Metzler ME880's on my '91 ST1100 in Florida and they seemed to stick like glue and wear like iron. Plenty of riding in rain. Of course, Florida is generally hot. That was then and this is now, though, so I have no idea if the ME880 is still around or if it's built the same way.
The tires that came with my 2001 ST1100 are Bridgestone BATTLAX T32's and I've really put them to the test. I can't find a negative thing to say about them.
