Instellingen ritmonitor
extra instellingen
Gebruikersprofielen

I don't see a Tonen (display) selection...

Underneath weergave I found Taal & Tilje and was able to resent it!!! Thanks...Now that wasn't so hard was it? (at least it was for the Dutch menu challenged...ME!)

Awesome Uncle Phil...Much Thanks...owe a beer!

All the best. Matt in Haymarket, Virginia...

That works for me...neither do I! I do make a mean Rhubarb pie to go with the milk...or I just got in 10lb of green coffee I could roast and send you a half pound. This thread and website are a great resource...I am greatful.

Matt

Glad you got English selected for the skin. Below are the instructions Hozzira sent me when I PM'd him with the same problem, for others' future reference. I must say the Moto skin is a big improvement over the stock iGO Primo skin. I even like it better when using the Rage in my car.

When you load iGO go to "Instellingen", big button right hand corner. Then do "Weergave" > Taal & Tijd and at the top it says "Nederlands", click that and change to English. Once you confirm the unit will restart iGO. Don't forget to change the voice to English too after that.

Just an update - I'm finding the 5" GPS version is a lot better at finding satellites - it gets them before I even get out of my driveway! The backlighting is better than on the Rage also. The only problem I've had so far is you have to be sure to use the security screw because the cradle clip is weak - a good bump or a strong wind can take the unit right out of the cradle (don't ask me how I know that ... ;-)) ! With Primo and the MC mods, this is really a nice setup. I hope Mark and the Crew can create the 800X480 resolution files for the MC mod so it will work on the Gen2 5" models. The larger buttons and the waypoint handling is really a great feature.

I ordered a 5" model on 6/20. They just sent me an email stating they will not ship till 7/20-7/30...
they will also include a sd card for the inconvenience.
Oh well, I'm not in any hurry.

I got the same email this morning. My order's been delayed several times. I guess we'll see...

They must have a real rush on the 5" GPS or have a supplier problem. Usually they are quick about shipments. But I always chose the 'DHL' shipping option - the 'postal' option can take weeks! And they require a signature for the package (unless they've changed).

Just got an email stating that my 'order' had shipped. I ordered the 5" Gen2 with 8GB... I hope that's what I get because they were pushing me to go with the 4GB Gen1 with a 16GB SD card thrown in. We'll see...

Paul - I don't think the 4gb vs 8gb will really make any difference as that is internal storage not memory and the GPS software runs from the microsd card. ;-) Unless you plan on loading the internal storage up with MP3 files, or books, or videos.

Understood, I'm just not sure what other 'hidden' differences there might be... there may have been several problems fixed with Gen2 that they don't mention, at least there are with 'Gen2' products that my company puts out. ;)

I was about to take the Gen1 with the 16GB card thinking I might never see the Gen2 but I got that email this morning so now I'll just wait for my Gen2 to get here.

Has anyone replaced the battery on the rage 4.3 ?
Email from Chinavision is no help.
Markings on the batt are : 3.7v 950mahGJ
-EOND 554045
There are 3 wires .

Is the 3rd wire a current limiting thermistor ?
Will a 2 wire battery work ?

Well, I received my 5" Gen2 yesterday, at least it says Gen2 on the box, although that's handwritten (2Gen). The device has 4GB of internal memory and they threw in an 8GB card. I verified both by plugging it into my computer, which sees both as empty external drives. Here's a little unboxing...

IMG_2610.jpg IMG_2611.jpg IMG_2615.jpg

It came with the following, (reference 3rd pic, clockwise from 12)...

  • User Manual
  • Suction cup mount
  • Handle Bar mount
  • USB cable
  • Power cable from GPS
  • Direct wire (12V) power cable
  • Cigarette lighter power cable
  • GPS Mount
  • 5" Gen2 GPS in center
It boots up quickly and outside, it found several satellites pretty quickly (<1 min) just holding it in my hand. I still haven't bought nav software yet but leaning (very) slightly towards iGO Primo. More to come as I get into it a little more and get nav software. Thanks for everyone's help, especially UP's.

Hmm, looks vaguely familiar ... :D Just remember, when you put it on the bike, be sure to tighten the 'security' screw! I find the 5" does a much quicker job of finding the satellites than the Rage units do. Supposed to be the same processor as the Rage, but they did something different. As I said, if you remove the 'ball' on the back (4 allen screws) the RAM AMP ball will mount right in it's place and then you can use any of the RAM mounting setups. Or you can build your own like I did. ;-) Since you've used IGO8 already, I'll be interested in your experience with 'plain' Primo if you chose that path (and if it works ... ;-)).

Thanks for that info Phil. I remember you commenting earlier on the security screw and will definitely use it. Good tip on the RAM mount... will look into that.

BTW, your homemade shade worked well. It was a little bent when I pulled it out of your box but a little sunshine heat and bending straightened it out. I hope it's still OK for you.

Primo... if I buy it, if it works... decisions, decisions...

I have Primo on it, and it works fine.

BTW could you post a picture of the homemade shade, please? Glare is the only issue I have with the thing. I put an anti-glare film on it, but it doesn't improve things much (and in certain conditions makes it worse).

Thanks Pieterv. Can you clarify "it" please? Is "it" the Gen2-8MB, Gen2-4MB or Gen1-4MB? Running off the SD or internal memory? I assume it was Primo without the mc update? How do you like Primo compared to iGO8? Major differences?

Thanks for any input... would really help in my decision. ;)
