Thanks for jumping in Pieterv. So, is the consensus that the 5" gen2 will run straight Primo 2.4 without the MC skin? I want to get the 5" device soon and need to decide which nav software to purchase.
Kiltman was quicker! (Thanks)
I am running straight Primo as the mod doesn't support my resolution.

The 1.9 version is the one I have and it says that the 800x480 resolution is not 'there'. I'll keep digging and see if I can come up with anything.
Pieterv - From what Chinavasion told me, Gen 1 has 4GB and Gen 2 has 8GB, so it appears that you have Gen 2 (noted by Gen2 in the product number on their website). How do you know you have 8 GB (just curious)? I bought my 3 Gen 1s on sale ($108 each) when they were clearing them out. On all three of the Gen 1s, I can run Primo 2.4 with the MC 1.9 mods just fine at the 800X480. The additional Gen 2 I have complains about the resolution. I even pulled the micro sd out of one of my Gen 1s and put it in the Gen 2 to make sure it wasn't a bad micro sd. Could you list what you have in your sys.txt file (it's in the PRIMO root directory)? It would be interesting to see if there are some parameters in there to deal with the resolution. BTW, where are you located in the UK?
Well, sitting here with a Gen1 and Gen2 side by side. The Gen1 does have only 4gb internal and the Gen2 has 8gb internal. But then I noticed something else - the Gen2 resolution for the 'system' menus is much finer (smaller print and icons) on the Gen2 than the Gen1. My supposition is that on the Gen1, it is not set to 800X480, but the Gen2 is (a Windows screen size issue). So when Primo comes up, it checks what the screen resolution is, finds an acceptable one on the Gen1 and works, finds 800X480 on the Gen2 and doesn't work since the MC 1.9 does not have a 800X480 resolution option per the Dutch website and per my digging around in the files. I would suppose with a Windows hack, you could reset the resolution on the Gen2 to match the Gen1, but the problem with the hack is if you mess it up, there is no recovery - all you have left is a nice paper weight.
