I read the good reviews on Spencer's seat mods and was looking forward to having him improve my stock ST1300 seat. But I can not reach him. No reply to voicemail or email. Anyone know if he is still doing seat mods?
Patience is the rule. This is the absolute worst time of year to get a seat done.I read the good reviews on Spencer's seat mods and was looking forward to having him improve my stock ST1300 seat. But I can not reach him. No reply to voicemail or email. Anyone know if he is still doing seat mods?
Do you have any answer from Spencer?I read the good reviews on Spencer's seat mods and was looking forward to having him improve my stock ST1300 seat. But I can not reach him. No reply to voicemail or email. Anyone know if he is still doing seat mods?
If you read his facts page, he politely tells you not to show up at his location.Today in my way to see one of my customers in Port St. Lucie y decide to drop by the address in Spencer's webpage.
I find the house, ring the bell and he shows up at the front door.
I start splaining to him the reason for my visit, he interrupts me telling me in a very rough manner that he does not do business at his house.
He turns around and shut the door in my face.
"very polite and professional"
I'm glad to know him in this circumstance because I'll rather no to do business with him.
For me: CASE CLOSED.
Yeah he posted 'Don't drop in'. So it can safely be assumed that he doesn't want anybody showing up on his domicile doorstep and that a motorcyclist who found him should have known that. Be that as it may I've seen many small businessmen adopt the business style of bad manners. From my experience it comes from 'I know more than you so take it or leave it I don't really need your business anyhow and who are you to ask questions if I didn't tell you you don't need to know '. That entiltement is seldom earned at these lower levels of expertise and never appreciated but there you are.fnmag said:Spencer does grade A work.
Same here, no gel, just a different kind of foam covering. I don't notice any more heat that I did with the stock seat which isn't much at all. There was no gel per se in my Spencerized ST seat, and it didn't get any hotter than any other seat in the sun that I could tell.
I found him friendly and easy to work with. My saddle, too has no gel and is no hotter than it was before. I do recall mention by him (either to me when I spoke with him a few years ago about doing his magic on my bike's seat or by reading someone else's post here) that he was slowing down and looking forward to retirement. Many of us are either within spitting distance of retirement or beyond that point. I'm not making any excuses for him, just tossing another factor into the equation.Spencer's communications skills suck, but he does a great seat. Not everybody these days finds it necessary to be PC. Sometimes you need to work a little to get what you want. If this bothers you, move on.
How does his seat compare to an RDL for long distance riding. The price difference is quite huge between the two.Spencer does grade A work.
I'm not sure how I'd like a stranger to appear at my front door.
Telephone, telegraph, tell a stranger.
