Whoa... everyone just calm down...

G'Day...

20°/30°C... absolutely soggy @ 70% RH, cloudy, gusty winds... 🌥️⛅🌥️ 🍃

Nespresso at ze GF's... :coffee:
(but not before fending off a feline attack of "FEEEED MEEEE!!!" 😾...)

commute bearable, road users behaving erratic though... Achtung baby! :cautious:

office, dull, Nescafé the only consolation... :coffee:

some imbeciles continuously left the upper cabinets open in that brake room...
located right behind the door frame I'd banged my head at least 10 times now... 🤬
Well, not anymore... leaving them always open means they're not required, hence I simply took those darn doors off... :devilish:
(don't care if the Frodos of the world manage to pass underneath... I'm 6'1" and those doors were 2" too low... period...)

LaST night was productive though...
While swapping the rotors again (don't ask...) I noted the caliper pistons on the '00 ST started getting hard to move...
(normally you can push them in with ease in by applying two thumbs on the caliper casing...)
So brake fluid out, off with the calipers, blow gun (and wooden strips) to pop the pistons out, heating up the ultrasonic... 🔊🚿
Always have sufficient amounts of dust-/seal-rings and float-pin grommets stashed... 😎
Sooo smooth again... 😁

About 2300hrs I got to ze GF's place, she was already pretty much unconscious... year, cats and women, both could sleep like 20 hours a day... 🐱👩‍🦳

anyhooo...

... WEEKEND!!! :smile-2x:

thanks for the start and glad you're weekend looks well, near at least
Middle of the On Call week for me
but no complaints; they don't give me too many and Im second string this go round so all I gotta do is check my phone once in a while see if my compadre is up to his midway in situations
Set the work phone to vibrate and had a great ride tonight around the lower mainland after a after work snooze
Almost nailed it earlier today in the service truck; changing lanes to the right downtown, didn't see it or didn't see it coming, and it was moving. First time I've hammered the brakes in that truck, that painful moment when you realize...
He's gonna hit me anyway, well the little van went "smoothingly by" without incident
There's a lesson in there for me somewhere maybe a couple
Wish everyone safe travels and if you're able to get out for a ride I hope it's a good one

this is Otto
gone a year
(four years old)
gone took soon

Thx Martin!
ATGATT in the office too…..

14˚c/57f, cloudy, quite calm after yesterdays gale in the afternoon.
We got a couple of hours on the beach with Peter, before the wind and rain chased us.

Today we’re escaping the island and a big family reunion on my fathers side. Tons of relatives….
Most of them are nice people, but I’m not a good enough actor to act like nothing towards people who are not.
And I don’t want to spoil the event for the others….

On our way to my daughters cabin, two islands away….under sea tunnels and a ferry.
Mrs Stu is in a shopping center doing her thing, while I stocked up with wine.
That’s my (weekend) thing.

Thx for photos Chris!

Have a nice week end!
Stu

From yesterdays event…

If you must get hit, get a coffee hit! I see a bit of a red sky this morning, maybe a thunder boomer later... Yesterday, took the little VFR to the doctor, the dent doctor, that is. Very good result, no longer a dent in the gas tank. Hopefully, I'm learning to be more careful, and will remember to raise the sidestand when pushing the bike over a slightly convex portion of a ramp, whether using a work table or a trailer. The idea is to not allow the sidestand to contact the ramp and push the bike over sideways!

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the coffee, Martin.

It's 71°F in Rockville, and I hear early birds marbling away as the sky begins to brighten. 91 that will feel like 99 is the call for later.

Yesterday's goof outing ended after just six holes, when a powerful thunderstorm cell passed directly overhead. Dangerous lightning accompanying frog-strangling torrential rain had everyone off the course and under shelter in short order. The rain was so heavy at times that we drove 30 mph or less for most of the 18 miles between the course and home.

Enjoyed the rest of the afternoon and evening just sitting around ans bee-essing with my buddy. He'll clear out in a couple hours, headed for his family vacation in Maine.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Martin.

It's sunny above the morning fog this morning, becoming partly cloudy with the chance of a passing t-storm.
Temperatures 73f/23c going to 89f/31.6c
Dew point is 72...98% humidity.

I made it to PT, then the gym, yesterday, and settled down inside.
We eventually went out for Linner and settled back down inside, again.
Brenda HAS to watch the Red Sox/Chicago baseball game, while I read and surfed the internet. I ended up watching the game as it progressed, and the Sox came from behind, tied it up, and eventually won in 13 innings.

Today will be a little more of doing nothing, inside.
After the gym.

Enjoy the day
Steve

Thanks Martin for the coffee.
Good thinking to remove the cabinet doors... now all that's left is to build a fire in the microwave with the wood, and roast some marshmallows.
Or hot dogs.
Or toast your pop-tarts.
That way, no one will be tempted to try and put them back on.
@Chris09 Otto was sure a handsome Shepherd. Always thought Black ones are so pretty.
Last night Roz and I went to see Butter and Grit at a downtown bar, in a nice outdoor, open-air 2nd floor patio.
Lauren / "Grit" is the niece of one of Roz' cousins. I don't have the mental energy to try to figure out what that makes her to Roz.
The show was good, relaxed atmosphere, they are funny, young, good energy, and their harmonies are tight, in sync, and really pretty to listen to.
Lauren's vocals often remind me of Bonnie Raitt, with a similar range.
Just one guitar, 2 singers, and occasionally a "guest" vocalist called Pink Beard, who they met a year ago in Nashville.
He is a heavyset, bald black man, wears a ball cap and dies his beard ...pink, hence the name. He sang gospel and blues with them, and has a great baritone.
We chatted with them for a while, and there were maybe 15 folks in attendance... nice, intimate performance.
And no rain.
At the end of the month, Roz' cousin Julie (Lauren's aunt) and her daughter will fly out to Pasadena, to see Butter and Grit perform at the America's Got Talent finals.
Don't know when that will air on TV.
Well, good luck, B&G!
Break a leg.
Tonight is Roz' rescheduled birthday dinner with her nieces and nephew at my brother-in-law's house.
Then this weekend I have to cut the grass, after replacing the radiator that arrived yesterday.
And somehow, I have posted another chapter-length installment before I've finished my first cup of coffee.
I'm sure there is something else I was going to mention, but fortunately for you all, I don't remember.
And this has gone on just about long enough.
T-storms likely today, rain this weekend, nothing I can do about it except bring the riding clothes.

Reminds me of another quip:

I saw the truth of that on our boat ride in Asia a year and a half ago.

Right...
But I am the one "unhinged", eh? 🤔😆

Morning Martin & All from a hazy morning in Southern Utah!

Looks like some of the smoke from all the fires around us, moved in.

Currently it is 78F, heading for 94F. No breeze now, but later the winds will be out of the ESE @ 12 to 16mph. Like yesterday, in the afternoon, we'll have some thunderstorms popup, but doubt if we will see anything out of them. Some of the areas around us, got a good beating.

We did a WallyWorld trip and then went and got a hamburger, so that pretty much shot the day. Maybe I'll get to the garage today.

Breakfast, once Chris gets up. And then Pepsi(s) for later.

Anyone :dr13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

WeSTOC 30 is in FIVE WEEKS!

Morning all! Gorgeous sunny blue sky day out there. It took all my willpower not to hang a right and head up Island for the day. 12C now, 26C later.

We hosted my in-laws and daughter with boyfriend for dinner last night. Good time was had with lots of laughter and stories. Have to love the connections that get forged or made stronger over food consumed leisurely with great company.

Back in the office today, it's my assistant's last day before she heads for pastures greener. I'll have to duck out at some point and get a card and some flowers. I'll miss her but it sounds like she's going on to brighter and better things (I know, right? Brighter and better than working for me?!?!?!? The absurdity!) so I'll wish her well and hope that we keep in touch.

I'll also hope that everyone has a great day and finds themselves surrounded by great company*!
