I love the NT, it is the best all-around bike I've ever owned. It has character. Easy to push around the garage, good dynamics, plenty fast enough, especially in the mid-range. Factory cruise control, heated grips. This bike is really slick in the wind; that is something only seasoned long riders understand. When a bike has good aerodynamics, it makes everything easier, less buffeting and wind noise, improved mpg, and tire life. With a 5.7-gallon tank, the NT has a range of at least 250 miles. I know, because in Alabama, with gas never more than 5 miles away, I ignore the flashing reserve light for a looooong time.Nice ride Guy. How do you like the NT 1100. I have been thinking about testing one out.
I like the DCT, the bike always knows what gear, you don't have to think about it, an impossible to choke down. You can customize ride modes. I ride in Urban mode with the transmission in Sport mode II. This lets the gears wind out, and won't shift into 6th till 63 mph. I have switched it to manual and used the paddles a few times, but didn't for long. I'm spoiled by DCT. I no longer have to hold a clutch at a light.
This bike handles and falls into a lean easily, won't drift off your line or wallow. I'm a old guy now, I wanted to downsize, without compromising stuff, and the NT does that really well. It is a great sport touring bike on a proven platform.
