Morning all! There's french roast in the pot and Pepsi in the ice chest. Enjoy!

Weather here is 14, headed to 18. Significant rainfall warnings are in effect, so it's a cage day. Rain should continue until sometime Saturday they are saying. I did see a silver ST1300 pass me on my way to work this morning. Made me sort of sad I sold STella, but I wasn't really riding her anymore.

Lots to do at work today, most of it not fun, but that's why they call it work, right?

Hope everyone has a great day.

Obo.

French Roast works for me, Obo, as does Black Rifle. Why not both? So thanks for that.
Your choice, or some of each.
Yesterday Birmingham set a new heat record, surpassing the high temperature set in 1920-something.
Meh. It's summertime -- what do you expect?
I expect it to be hot, the way I like my coffee.
Also, took the car to work as a final stress-test of my recent cooling system R&R, before turning the Element over to Roz today while her Civic has 4 new tire pressure sensors.
On a record-setting high temperature day, the temp needle stayed just below the halfway mark.
That works for me, too.
Other than that, my life is maintaining a steady, routine, flat line on the stress / disappointment / chaos / drama graphing chart, which is to say all is groovy, man, just normal.
Works for me.
While the highs and peaks are nice, I'm ok with not dipping below the normal and average line, where tragedy, chaos, sadness, and all the dark negatives lie.
Put differently, life is good.
And that also works for me.
Hope your days are good today as well.
Later.

Good morning and thanks for the coffee, Obo.

It's 62 in MA this morning with fog in the area.
We got rain overnight, and today it'll be cloudy, becoming partly cloudy as the temperature rises to 79. We may get another shower or so, until it clears up.

Club Day went well, yesterday, and everyone went home with an undamaged car. I noticed a bunch of Vettes and Porsches in greater numbers than usual.
Dinner was at a local pub style restaurant , before we settled in for the night.

Today, I'll head to the gym for a bit , but beyond that , I've got nothing planned.

Enjoy your day,
Steve

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the French roast, Obo.

It's 72°F and cloudy in Rockville at the moment. Scattered rain showers are possible, as is a high around 93 and much humidity.

Yesterday was a really good day, right up until the moment it wasn't. I was having a very good (for me) round of goof- on track to be my best ever. Starting on about the thirteenth hole our foursome were all watching the weather radar and skies overhead carefully as a big, DARK cloud front advanced on us. It was preceded by a rapid uptick in the wind, and within a few minutes we were being doused with torrents of rain accompanied by nearby thunder, although I never saw the causative lightning.

Naturally, we bolted for the cover, shelter, and the safety of the clubhouse, stopping briefly to offload the clubs into my car. In doing so, I opened the side pocket where I keep my phone and wallet (*), and retrieved them. Sometime between that moment and the time we arrived at the clubhouse less than a minute later, my wallet... vanished. Disappeared. Went missing. Poof! Gone.

(* Despite that I have a "memory". or at least a strong impression, that I pulled the wallet out of the bag it's possible that I am incorrect, and am remembering some other time where I did that. But I'm 99.99999999% certain I had it with me.)

Unless both I and my playing partner managed to overlook it in no fewer than four thorough, careful examinations it's not in my car. Nor is it still in my golf bag. Or the pockets of my shorts. Or on the ground between the car and the clubhouse. Or on the cart we were using. Or at the lost and found at the pro shop.

It's not water-soluble so it didn't simply dissolve in the downpour. It didn't get washed to the edge of the parking lot, to lodge under any of the parking bollards in the area where I was parked. It wasn't under any of the other cars near my parking spot. It didn't get left behind on the kitchen table, counters, my desk, or anywhere else in the house, or at least none of the places I've thought to look.

It's. Just. GONE.

So, today I get to start the ever-so-enjoyable process of cataloging what it held, canceling credit and debit cards, applying for a replacement driver's license, and whatever other miscellaneous stuff needs replacement. Ugh. And almost certainly, five minutes after I start the process and make some irrevocable, irreversible, and inconvenient action, it'll turn up in some unlikely spot. Sigh.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

thanks for the start but it's water only this am forme and the LCFTSA as she's got dental surgery will be off to help out with that today probably no riding but might play around with some stuff in the between time
that's a pain to deal with losing a wallet
driving to the store sunday picked up a phone off the street
had already been driven over a little bent screen wouldn't light but not cracked
took it home put a note on my front door charged it and it rang a weird tone periodically finally i get a call from the owner, leave it in the mailbox
off to work monday morning and a 50 dollar bill blows out from under my door 😆
Hopefully someone will find it and get it back to you
Safe travels if you're out and about and wish everyone a safe ride if you're able

Good morning all!
Thanks for getting us rolling, @Obo.
Obo, I can send you a picture of my ST, same colour!
Keith, that seems to sound so familiar!
I’ve been down that trail before! Hope you find it before someone else does!

I managed to get the new place mowed yesterday, despite the wet & soggy areas.
Enjoy your day!

Morning Obo & All from sunny, Southern Utah!

Currently it is 68F, heading for 81F and there is winds advisories in the Weather guessing app. Anything like yesterday, I hope not. Nothing out there now, but later, the winds will be out of the SSW @ 22 to 38mph.

Keith, that's a bummer your wallet ran off like that. It always makes for a real pain!

Yesterday, Chris and I drove down to ST George and picked up some plastic boards/stays for an above ground planter, that we will use for Chris's Lilacs.

I was also able to get out and mow the front lawn. Today I'll hit it with the weed eater and mow the back lawn.

Still working at getting things done for WeSTOC 30!

Once Chris wakes we'll have some breakfast. And thanks Obo for the Pepsis! :wine1:

Anyone :bl13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

Morning all! Mix of sun and cloud. Rained yesterday, just in time for the ride home, and kept it up during much of the night. There's a chance of a bit more before clearing later this afternoon. Currently 12C with a predicted high of 17C. Judging from the pictures and video, it looks like Toronto (Pronounciation: Trawna) got hit hard. Wind took out a whole section of seats at the Rogers Centre aka Skydome.

Working from home today so as to help out with getting the house ready for my daughter's boyfriend's mom. (Try saying that three times fast.....) She arrives from the fair state of Texas tomorrow and it's the first time that we will be meeting her so we want to make a good impression....or at least a lesser unfavourable one.

Keith, that really sucks about your wallet. Hopefully, the replacement process isn't too difficult.

Hope everyone has a great day!

G'mornin' from SoMD! It's a bright and sunny morning here though I can see rain on the radar again. It came through yesterday as Keith reported, but somehow my LP escaped with only 0.02" on the gauge. So, I stare at my empty 2nd cup and rethink life choices...but not for too long.

Today I WFH and get things ready for the wedding trip, as will tomorrow, betwixt and between doing actual work. On the side, I am working on a friend's JD lawn tractor he dropped off. Deck is trashed but he just wants to use it to tow/move stuff around. Got it running again, now working on fashioning a hood from a different tractor to fit it. This morning I tried my hand at plasstic welding to fix the cracks in it. It's ugly but it works and the practice is good to have. It'll have to be put aside for more pertinent stuff on the to-do list needing to get done, but I can think on it since he's understanding that it's not high priority. An interesting problem.

@ibike2havefun I sure hope your wallet turns up. A goof course is a much better group of ppl (I think?) to get help from than the common public like a grocery store parking lot.

In case I don't check in tomorrow, I hope everyone over here has a great holiday weekend, and all have a good one. Take care y'all!

Good morning and thanks Obo, lifting my second cup of Kirkland's finest French roast. 71 and overcast with showers throughout the day.

Hurricane Lowell has passed below us and is heading West, but the track will turn North and it looks like it will get closer to Kauai than previously reported.

Working from home again,as my wife's car is acting up and more house project completions are needed. A Texas/Oklahoma move is getting more in focus.

Stay safe!!

Paul, glad to see you back, I was thinking about you the other day, with all the activity going on around you guys!

Actually a move to Cedar City would be better! ;)

I'd like to believe that as well. OTOH it's now been almost 30 hours since the thing turned up missing, and it's not been turned in AFIK. That means either it's not been found or someone has found it and not done the decent. I've not seen or been alerted to any suspicious activity on any of the cards, so I'm leaning toward "not found" (is that a 404 error?) but in any case the process of re-obtaining all of the things I need has begun.

Good evening, yeah Internet not working that good this morning again, anyway took the bike to pick up Meds , bread, two hours of beautiful summer riding. Also managed a nap this afternoon. All in all a good day so far, and sorry Keith about losing your wallet. Everyone else have a good night sleep, G

I should add, that our volcanos are "mostly" dormant. ;)
