Morning all. French roast is in the pot.

Glad yourself a cup and a half. 'Tis the season.

No a lot going on here. It was a less foggy than yesterday ride to work in 16C. It'll warm up to 29 with a chance of rain or showers. The Earth is still mostly round. Taxes still need to collected by The Man.

Hope your neck of the woods is decent, and that you all have a super day. Safe travels to those in transition.

*hugs*

Obo.

Good morning everyone

The Cubano roast by Mayorga is hot, in the pot, and ready to be enjoyed. The pot is our backup carafe, the primary having failed to survive contact with the cleaning ladies yesterday. A new one is due today, provided by the ladies making good on their error. They felt much worse about the loss than I did.

It's 56°F (!) and clear in Rockville. When was the last time the overnight temperature got that low here? I can't remember.

The high will be 81, under mostly sunny skies.

Today is the birthday of a dear friend, and also of my departed oldest brother. I'll celebrate with my friend, by taking him and his wife out for a half round of golf. Why only a half round? After I booked, the course informed me that they're aerating their greens and only nine holes will be open to play. The same was true in yesterday's edition of Old Guy Goof, where we simply played those nine holes twice. Today it'll be nine and done, I think.

Babble, blather, banter... enough, already!

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Thanks Obo. Mellow will be along momentarily to add my pot to yours.

Oh, taxes. I'll have to pay a quarterly estimate for income taxes next month, and also the first half of my real estate tax bill (which increased by 37 percent over the previous bill ... the State says it's not due to a rate increase but to a revised estimated value so it's difficult to contest :censored: .)

Thanks guys, I expect I'll be sufficiently caffeinated for the ride to the office... and to make sure I maintain that level, I'll make another pot when I get there.
Well, I'm not going to post anything here today, because I had a nice post typed up, left to find a funny quote, only to come back and find my wittiness, wisdom and humor had all disappeared.
I'm so irritated, I'm protesting.
By not posting.
Just thought y'all should know.

Good morning, folks. Thank you, Obo, for the cafe! In Minneapolis, it's a very nice morning: 64°F, warming up to 84°F today. I put stuff out for Free on the corner of my yard on Sunday; by yesterday, it was all gone :roflmao-2x: . I'm so glad to see people picking stuff!. Have a wonderful day, y'all!

Morning Keith, Obo & All from sunny, Southern Utah!

Currently @ 7:25AM, it is 57F, heading for 90F. Depending who (what Weather Guessing App) you're looking at, we may, or may not have another thunderstorm roll through today. Late afternoon yesterday one went through, one good lightning strike/ the sound of thunder, a few drops of the wetstuff, and it rolled out. Several areas north of here got hit pretty good. Even Bryce Canyon had a flash flood that took a number of folks by surprise. No breeze yet, but later the winds will be blowing out of the ESE @ 8 to 12mph.

While Chris and I picked up her fixed tire from a local tire store, we stopped and got a hamburger, then stopped by the local office of the UHP, only to find it closed. A gal in the DMV office said that the gal that mans the UHP office is there on different days. So, maybe I'll try again today. After getting home, I remounted the tire back on the Highlander. Another really exciting day at the Hampton's! :rofl1:

While Chris heads off to the Temple today with her friend, I'll get some washing done.

Once Chris is up, we'll get some breakfast. Pepsi(s) on order for later.

Anyone :bl13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

Ladies & Gents (and others),

Let this be a lesson to all to not walk out the door properly caffeinated. I made the mistake today and paid for it. Fortunately, no one else was injured only my pride.

I had extra stuff to carry in today, so my brain was swimming with all I needed to grab: lunch, clothing, laptops, etc. Forgot to prep the coffee maker last night and couldn't wait, had to get out the door bc school is now back in therefore traffic will be HELL. Decided I needed the top box so had that in hand. Forgot I removed the comms in my helmet to wash the padding, no time for that either, going mute. Got everything on the bike and stowed, headed out. It was a brisk morning, dropping to 58F/14C in the hollers.

First half hour or so of my commute was nice except for the twit who HAD to ride my a$$ through a school zone. A quick hand gesture (not THAT one) backed him off. Then I came upon EVERY. ONE. ELSE. The summer months riding were bliss compared to this madness. 5 miles of left-hand cramping slugging. Finally past that choke point and into DC, where I hit the next choke point and my parking destination, on base. But every entrance gate was preceded with a half mile or more backup to get scanned in.

Except maybe the littler known north gate, but it closes (for some dumb reason) at 0830 sharp. It was 0824. Decided to take a chance and ride past everyone in queue, come up over the last hill and, almost nobody in line!

One last red light before I get there and realize I need my ID, which is still in my bag. No prob, just get of and pull it out while the lights red. I drop into neutral and lean the bike...and forgot the kickstand. TUMP! I go down in front of everyone. And everyone behind me wants to make it in too. They're angling around me as I dead lift my bike back up. Have to wait for the bank angle sensor to reset to restart. Got it going and thru the light, stopped, and grabbed my ID. I ended up being the last one through before closing. WHEW! Maybe they saw me and felt pity, I don't care. I was in.

After that, I zombie-walked into my building, brain still swimming with all that happened and what's on my plate today. Finally some delicious coffee to blow away the fog. Thanks gents!

And there you have my sob story today. It can only get better, right? Take care y'all!

Good Morning, yes it is 7:00 in my end of the world. Thanks Obo and Keith for Coffee, yesterday got out for a ride, so today is garbage day and wife needs me to do something with her,so probably no ride today. Just another Tuesday. Made my usual breakfast, eggs on toast and bowl of Rice crispy's and microwaved coffee. Time to make a fresh pot of coffee and take out the garbage, and pet the Dog and Cat. Most exciting! Okay Y'all have a good day G

Morning all! Sunny and bluish skies here, we have smoke layered over top which the weather network assures me will dissipate by afternoon. 16C now, 24C later.

Took the car to work so the dogs could join me. I've been inundated with questions as to when they would make another appearance. Good reason why dogs should be allowed in offices, it boosts the morale.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Hello, everyone.

I missed the coffee this morning , due to our flight and drive back home from Oregon, then naps, after getting our cats settled down.

We went to lunch, after our naps , and are unpacking .

It was a good trip , and we're looking forward to visiting again at Christmas.

@jdmccright , that was an inauspisious start to your day. Glad you persevered.

Enjoy your day,
Steve
