Wanted Wanted Good Used Rear Shock

I am looking to replace the rear shock in my 1993 ST 1100.
Thought I would try before buying new

Ps I amopen to suggestions for sourcing a new aftermarket replacement

Unless you stumble on someone who crashed their bike, buying used is going to be iffy, at best. There was a recent discussion about used shocks, I think.

I've got 4 Works Pro Racer shocks for the ST1100.
One of the four has low mileage on it but I don't know which one it is ...
I'd sell the whole batch for $250 plus shipping but the shipping would probably be as much as the shocks.

I would go for uncle Phil’s deal. Sounds like it is highly likely there is a fine shock in the batch.
And even if not so, after the added cost of a rebuild you’d you have a great shock that’s essentially new vs an ok shock, I am thinking Progressive that I had.
It was somewhat better than stock.

What do you use now?

After an unpleasant rebuild experience with the daughter who took over Works (changed it to WORX) I swapped to Wilbers.
They worked great on my ST1100s but when rebuilding them got to be an issue, I moved on.
AFAIK, the company is out of business but I think there is a feller that bought all the parts stuff and still refurbs them.
I just don't have his information or I would post it.
**I just checked my records - one of the shocks has less than 2,000 miles on it and less than 1 year of use.
I put it on BlueBelle then swapped it out for a Wilbers unit when I did the rest of them.
But again I don't know which one. **

You will definitely improve the ride and handling with aftermarket shocks, like the Wilbers, or what I’m currently using, a Hagon with remote. They are expensive but the grins when riding after the change are a testament to have done the right thing!
