Yeah, they were only $300 the last time I bought them. But they last at least 5 or more years. Those are definitely the style I’m looking for but dang, $400. Wow!

Even bigger WOW!
I just clicked on the link on the post by @larryg. Took me to TCX website and size 10 is available with free shipping. My old boots are ready to fail so I took advantage of the info on this thread and ordered a pair. Thanks everyone!Well it appears the TCX X-5 is basically out of production and you can only find small sizes like 9 and down. The Daytona’s are nice and what I’m looking for but at $500 it doesn’t make me happy. I was really hoping to max out around $300 or less.
Thank you all for the input.

Sadly Skip, these days maybe well behind us.I was really hoping to max out around $300 or less.
Well that's disappointing. I saw those and thought they'd be worth looking into. My only boots are short over the ankle boots. Something a fair bit taller would be welcome. Waterproof is a perk but not a must. It it looks like rain it's time to stay inside and watch Monk DVDs.Well it appears the TCX X-5 is basically out of production and you can only find small sizes like 9 and down.

TCX has been acquired by Dainese. I think some TCX models will be taken over by Dainese and will potentially change their name (and price?).Well it appears the TCX X-5 is basically out of production and you can only find small sizes like 9 and down. They are not Gore-Tex and I feel Gore-Tex is the only true waterproofing. So now of course im looking at boots. No, I don't need them yet, I tend to get them before needed. I would probably try these. A stars has never disappointed, and for $259 seems a bargain.

i ran into this too, on first look my size (11) was out of stock. But I saw that if you leave TCX your email, they will notify you when your size is available.Well that's disappointing. It'll really go overboard if it goes from the oil thread to talking about reusing the crush washer!Jeez!! This is turning into an oil thread!!
Just buy some Never Wet - this stuff is amazing. I sprayed a pair of boots over a year ago on my back patio. Now whenever it rains or I wash off the stone, there are two perfectly shaped shoe prints where I set the shoes down to spray them. What about treating boots that stop being waterproof with silicone tent spray?
BTW- BTDT... didnt' work so well.
