Having to make as much use of my unsupervised time as possible, I spent last evening at the shed...
the '00 ST got her overhauled/cleaned carbs back, installed, synced, etc...
I just like that place within an industrial estate, where else can you start syncing your carbs at 2000hrs without law abiding citizens calling SWAT on you... 🤔😁
enriched idle just a tad, added lots of grunt straight out of idle... coasting in 3rd at 2000rpm and simply throttle away like a stabbed cougar... :cool:

Also located the cause for the slight skittish handling; seems I was in a rush when swapping the front rotors... 🤔
Visual check confirmed: the groove on the LHS end of the axle was barely visible...
cracked the pinch bolts loose, punched the fork bottom with the heel of my hand, secured the bolts again... AH! Carves like a razor blade through cardboard again... :cool:
This also cured the slight dec wobble (highly unusual on Exedras unless they're really worn down)... win-win...

The way home includes some slab, open afterburners and glide along... smooth, powerful... :cool:

A fine startup indeed.

Yesterdays fishing went well, a fine cod and some pollocks, which turned into fillets, and that’s todays dinner.
I think my nephew had a nice time too, away from the digital world….

Today will be some brakework on my sons car.
And some cooking. Not on the car.

The wind is back, 30mph from northwest, no fishing today.

18 and heavy rain here, which I can confirm. RainX on the windshield, but still needed the wipers on. Wet will do us good.

Nothing fun planned for the day other than Mrs. O's coming to take me out for lunch. She has a dentist appointment this morning so will come by afterwards. Don't imagine it will be anything fancy, but nice to get out of work for an hour.

It's 70,going to 81 in MA this morning, under cloudy skies. Possible thunderstorms after noon.

I made it to the gym, yesterday, and the predicted rain kept me indoors afterward.

Today, I'll visit my ophthalmologist for a field of view test.
I'll stop by the gym, afterward.

Sorry for the caffeine interruption, Martin.
At our place, there is no door to the breakroom, so no chance of being locked out.
Not much chance of rain today... until 5 o'clock, when it jumps to 40%.
Kaiser stays home, looks like.
I'm going to rip out our network switches today, and finally replace all the old gear with current gigabit hardware.
Similar to some of the work I used to do for Whataburger.
Need some air in my tires before I ride away, so let's get it done.
Don't go flat today.
Unless it's on your back, to take a nap.
 
Thanks for the reliable startup, Martin. What could be more reliable than coffee? Maybe ether for your diesel... A week or two ago, I mentioned having some out-of-towners coming around for a visit. They've now come and gone, and I must say we had a great time! Naturally, there were motorcycles involved! Some of the upcoming WoodSToc spots were explored, and met with generous approval. Out and about with good people - so much fun...

The weather played tricks on me. It was supposed to rain yesterday afternoon but held off until 10pm. But when it did rain, hoooooeeee! Over an inch dumped in about a half hour. It was supposed to continue through today but the forecasters changed their mind, so I got to ride in. It was steamy from the overnight rain, but I once again snuck in the north gate just as they were about to close...the guard literally looked at his watch as he scanned my badge. Saved me 20 minutes waiting in the other gate queues. And traffic played nice too, makes me wonder if they will retaliate later today. 74F/24C when I left the house, will only get to 86F.

Oh, I saw another guy on a ST1300 turn away from the closed gate and I of course had to yell out "nice bike" and note I have an 1100. He gave a "hell yeah" and thumbs up as he turned to head to an open gate.

Can't think of anything pertinent to report. Carpet cleaning continued last night & made more progress. I know it'll never look new again, but it's a d**n sight better than it was before. Garage work is on hold until parts come in, delayed for no good reason. Soooo, I just....wait. Maybe clean something else. I dunno. Take care y'all!

Morning all! Sunny day with blue sky wreathed in a bit of smoke. The sun was a glowing red fireball this morning as it rose while I took the dogs for a walk. Currently 22C, predicted high of 28, though based on yesterday's experience, I expect the high to be much higher than that. It was 32C for the ride home yesterday and I was a melting mess by the time I got home.

The fictional law firm name used on law school exams was always Dewy, Cheatem & Howe.

My ex last name was Pollock. The association with fish seems particularly apt :wink:.

Good afternoon all,

15C and rainy here on the North Shore of the St-Lawrence. Caged to work. Won't be doing much more of that, as retirement is looming in the fall. I should stop working before I STable STeady (ST1300A-05) in the fall.

Not really looking forward to the white stuff season, but can't really help thinking about it since one of my major post retirement project will be STripping PB (Parts Bike, ST1300-05). The tupperware and some parts will be used to bring STeady back to snuff, as she has suffered some dings, tip overs and been rear ended once. I plan to tap the wheels to fit the pulser rings so that they can replace the wheels on either of my ST1300A's, which will make tire changes a much easier proposition until I do decide to get a tire changer rig. For now, I remove the wheels and bring them in to fit the rubber.

Pegasus (ST1300A-07) has ABS and rear wheel sticking issues and will be getting the STripped SMC and any other required compatible brake parts. Hopefully, the modulators are OK, and I will be able to make it road ready so that it can be used to go riding with my son. I actually brought the bike back from Montreal to Sept-Iles without any issues, but it did require not using the brake pedal to avoid locking up the rear, which is the main reason for me to suspect a bad SMC as the main cause of the brake issues. I inherited Pegasus from my BIL because the STealer wanted more than 5K$ to "fix the issue by changing all the lines, since it did not bleed well". I told him I was fairly certain I could fix Pegasus for less than 500$... but his aging body and shorter stature made him decide he would stick to his GoldWing for any future rides.

Morning Martin & All from mixed clouds and Sun in Southern Utah!

Currently it is 78F, heading for 85F with more possible thunderstorms. I think we'll see as much as we did yesterday... 0.00" :well1: No breeze yet, but later the winds will be from the S @ 7 to 8mph.

The repair guys showed up yesterday for the fridge. We are watching it to see if they fixed it. They said it could take a good 24 hours to stabilize.

I tore into the garage again, but still, it's far from being organized like I want it. Looking at my topcase parts, I assembled a complete rack unit, only to discover, that I had another one in the black topcase I bought a few months ago, that I totally forgot about. So I sorted out the parts, only to find it was missing a couple, so I had to grab those parts from the one I just did. :doh1: Oh well. At least I have what I need, once I get this AZ05 on the road! :)

Today, I'll be mowing the lawns and then I'm going to try some other weed killer on the lawn. It's not supposed to hurt the lawn. :cautious:

The granddaughter is wearing out poor grandma. But she only has today and tomorrow and our son and the rest of the family will be here.

Eggs, bacon, toast & OJ for the morning start. Pepsi(s) for later.
