A tour of Edinburgh Castle, and browsing the shops in the area, is time well spent. Especially if there is an art festival taking place.

A87 Invergarry to Kyle of Lochalsh for flowing bends.
A863 up the west side of Skye for bends and empty roads.
A832/A890 Garve to Lochcarron for a blast
Unclassified road near Kishorn to Applecross for the nearest to an Alpine / Nordic road in Scotland.
Fish Platter lunch at the Applecross Inn is a must.
Chill out with a night in Plockton.
A828 Ballachulish to Connel with lunch at Castle Stalker cafe.
A819 Inverary to Dalmally
A830 Fort William to Mallaig stopping at the Glenfinnan Monument.
Unclassified road from A835 near Drumrunie to Lochinvar. Technical but superb views.

Just a few suggestions.......

Edinburgh Festivals and Tattoo are in August. Population of Edinburgh doubles. Great atmosphere and so much to do.
Now world's third biggest event by ticket sales numbers ( after Olympics and Soccer World Cup).
But book accommodation well in advance.

Well I never, we love bonny wee Scotland don't we.
So to continue the theme, two photos from previous trips, one bike on the CBF1000 and one car for obvious reasons.
The sunset is from the Back of Keppoch looking out towards Skye, Eigg and Rum. Stunning location.
The less than summery scene is at Christmas on Skye looking towards the mainland. It was real cold. Which is actually unusual for the West Coast. The beauty of the cold is that the wildlife is even better. DSC00482.jpgDSC01936.jpg
