I contacted the seller.....I'm betting he doesn't realize the messed up price.
I contacted the seller also and that's exactly what they said in there humorous attempt at the English language! "hi, dear friend, thank your for your coming first, since the item out of stock, we increase the price, don‘t worry , we will adjust to the original price($27.99) when the item is in stock, please add it to the watch list fitst, thank you !" LOL

Thanks, @ST Gui!

This one has the similar "lip" around the edge as the X-Creen. See #2.

The #1 shows a slightly wider dimension, with no "lip" on the edges.

Better price for a 380mm one!

Any thoughts or input from anyone concerning the small "lip / ridge" around the edge on some of these versus those without that small lip? I can't imagine it would make much, if any, difference, but I thought I'd ask, especially any of you that are currently using one. Thanks!

The ST1100's have a clear plastic sleeve, similar to a small door edge guard, wrapped around the top and part way down the sides of the windshield. If what you are talking about is similar to that it did a great job of stopping rain water from running up the windshield and blowing off the top on to your face shield. The water would hit this tube and be forced by the wind towards the sides where it would then actually move down to where this tube ended. Once there it would blow off at the bottom half of the windshield away from your face. Other than that it didn't do much of anything that I was aware of.

I've used the black trim on my STs and it really does make a difference.

So, after 3 weeks, the Clip-On Windshield Extension Spoiler Wind Deflector arrived today. Bought this clear 380mm one:
I suspected it would really only be the same as the 360mm size ones, which after measuring it, it is. They China-version ones have to be coming from a single source over there and sold by a number of different Ebay vendors with their own descriptions. At first look, it appears to be decent quality. I’ll try it out some over the 4th of July holiday!

Any recommendations or photos on what the best setup positions have been for those that are using a similar one?

Do you have a stock windshield or a different one? I am considering one of these extensions and am interested in your review once you get it installed and tested. Best wishes.

Hi Folks: I ordered this on July 4th. Arrived on my door step yesterday (July 11th). That alone impressed me, as I'm on Vancouver Island, and we seem to take forever on
shipping. Took my time on the install and took about 5 mins. I have to admit to a healthy dose of skepticism on this, wondering what I was getting for $30. Wow! What a difference. I'm totally impressed about the improvement in noise and turbulence. Quality seems good. I took it on a 60km ride, with the bride on the back and even she was noticing a definite improvement. 130kmph and no indication this thing was gonna come off. $38.83 canadian right to my door. This is a no brainer. Thanks ya'll for the heads up here.

I do have a stock windshield. I’m sorry I haven’t had an opportunity to test ride it much yet to have a good review. Between the heat, thunderstorms, and July being red snapper fishing/spearfishing season in the Gulf, the bike has been sitting more than I like.

@Patrevan, what position did you find the deflector most beneficial?

The overall height of the deflector is 5" (in the middle). While I'm still playing with it, the position that puts the deflector over the top of the stock windshield about 3" seems about right. I can just see over it. I'm 5'8" I wear a full face helmet, with a full visor. I prefer to wear the visor about 3/4 open. In this position, I'm not looking through the visor or the deflector. Without the deflector, the turbulence was such that the visor would not stay open. With the deflector, the visor doesn't move.

This Givi windshield as well as my Clearview are both useless without the MRA spoiler. Perfect with it, wind going just over the top of my helmet.

I combined "Laminar Lip" with the V-Stream , heated a line on both sides & slightly bent to adapt to V-Stream shape :

My X-creen came with both clamps and bolt-on hardware. With the clamps, the unit is transferable to another bike, so I used them first. However, when riding in heavy rain on I 75 north approaching Detroit, a large pothole sent a severe jolt through the bike and one of the clamps came loose. The screen started flapping in the breeze, so I pulled it off, held it in my left hand and deliberately stalled the bike in sixth gear under an overpass. Now it's permanently fastened with the bolts and the clamps were donated to another rider who had lost some parts on his clamps. Bolts are better!

Here is a link to a video I made to help me evaluate some different setups for the clip on "China version" of the MRA X-Creen Wind Spoiler/Deflector that I recently purchased through ebay. I am sure there are many factors that impact each person's experience with an add-on device such as this, so this is certainly not intended to be anything more than just one more perspective on what you might experience with a similar device. I am also looking for more input from those that have tried it as to what might improve my results even more. I do apologize for the 21 minute length of the video, but this is edited down from over an hour of footage on my trial ride Saturday afternoon.

Blessings!

Thanks for this video. It seems you concluded that the lip does not provide any advantage to you over tweaking your windshield to the perfect height. My faux laminar lip is identical. I recently sold my 6th Goldwing, (a 2005) and consider those the gold standard when it comes to wind/weather protection. Those Wings have a manual vertical adjustment of about 4" and I ran that windshield at its nearly lowest position 90% of the time. This allowed me to see just over the top of the windshield. But make no mistake, it still does not rival the quiet and comfort of being in a car. I purchased my 2001 st1100 3 yrs ago for a variety of reasons and had the opportunity to ride both bikes during that period. I knew I'd be giving up some creature comforts, including the protection that big ol' fairing provided. But the lip does a very good job of extending my too-low-for-me stock st1100 windshield. I am somewhat surprised at the number of folks who install these lips on the st1300 with its power windscreen.

I ordered one of the Chinese models. Gonna take me all summer to figure out how to assemble it. LOL!!! No instructions, just a bag of parts.

Any help on how to put this together is greatly appreciated. :thumb:242999

Mine came fully assembled!

Check out these videos. It if for the MRA X-creen shield, but should be just about the same.

Motoparty air deflector. $38 on Amazon. Works great. Received in two days.

Actually it wasn’t too bad once I looked at it fully assembled in the EBay ad. Took about 7 or 8 minutes.
