Wise Sayings...or Not

"Look Sharp, Feel Sharp, Be Sharp" (old Galette razor blade commercial) A saying I heard a lot from my Dad as a young teenager.
That's not one of the wisdom's Dad passed on to me. But I do remember the Gillette Cavalcade of Sports and the Friday Night Fights. I always thought Friday Night Lights was a deliberate play on that.

I went to the Friday Night Fights, and a hockey game broke out.

We are Sorry, but we were not able to solve all of your problems! With each problem solved more problems arose. We are very confused, but we believe that we have become enlightened and are now solving problems on a much higher level!

Obviously it wasn't a Lightning Panthers game. :box1:
October 4, 2025 (Preseason): A wild preseason game saw a combined 322 penalty minutes, including 13 game misconducts and numerous majors. The penalty box looked like the players bench.....Fun

6 Things men need but don’t talk about

  1. Emotional safety without being judged as “weak”. Men open up only where they feel their vulnerability won’t be used against them.
  2. Quiet appreciation for what they do daily. Most men show love through action—-noticing their effort means everything.
  3. Respect in how you speak to them. Tone impacts men deeply; they feel love through dignity and trust.
  4. Physical affection without expectation. Simple touch—a hug, a hand on the shoulder—softens even the strongest men.
  5. Space to decompress after stress. They process emotions differently and need silence to reset.
  6. A partner who believes in their potential. Faith in them builds confidence they can’t always find alone

This one goes along with what @docw1 wrote above:

Ephesians 5:33
33 So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

It says the men are to love their wives. Okay, that's a given.

Now here's the part that was an ahh-hah moment for me. Women aren't to love their husbands. They are to respect them. We want love, sure. But first and foremost...we want respect.
