WoodSToc 2 - Aug 15-18, 2024 - Mazerolle Settlement, NB

We will looking to squat our "gypsy mobile" between two domes for the weekend. Then we have a few days to tour around afterward. I'm hoping to bring my bride to Maine and New Hampshire as she has not been to either. I'm hoping someone will provide guidance to us on where to go and wherer to camp for a few days. Her first time on a motorcycle trip, I have to be very gentle with her.
As Gerhard said before, you're more that welcome to "squat" beside either of us, or if you are unlucky, between us!

As for Maine, haven't been there in a long time but remember Bar Harbor as a cute town ( a little "touristy") but Acadia National Park nearby was beautiful.
New Hampshire White Mountains have some great bike roads too. Others will chip in with some suggestions I'm sure.
Looking forward to seeing you again Rob, and meeting your bride, I'm bringing mine too. :)

It looks as though this event will break all records with the percentage of wives present and accompanying their "lesser" halves! Excellent!
This means that route planning must include clean washroom stops, an awesome lunch location, and also a couple of interesting surprise stops. It'll be less about distance, more about scenery, and there's lots of that! I'm eagerly anticipating leading on Friday. Later this week, I'll meet with Ryley about the Saturday route.

Thanks George, the greater halves will appreciate your route planning. Any tentative plans for the 3 dinners or will we be BBQing at the domes one or more evenings?

3 dinners
Saturday night's dinner will be at the venue, ie River Run Resort. There's a big room on the upper floor (with AC) where we'll slap a couple of tables together at which to eat something my daughter and granddaughter are looking forward to serving! There'll be a jar or pot for donations, so nobody will feel guilty! The "on location" meal means there'll be no risk of inebriated motorcyclists getting into mischief. Btw Bruce, I have a little chore for you; expect a text shortly...
For anyone arriving Wednesday, Gerhard has offered to provide some morsels, thanks Gerhard!
Thursday and Friday - tbd.

Some notes:
- recommended route into River Run from eastbound Hwy 2 (Trans Canada), take the exit for 3/102, and go left at the end of the ramp. Follow 102 to your right. Just a very few minutes, you'll be going uphill, take Mazerolle Settlement Rd on your right. In 3 or 4 minutes, look for the black bear on your right. That's it!
- Breakfast will be at Ivy's Diner (Johnny's Gas Bar on site) each morning, leaving the campground at 8. It's about a 12 minute ride. After breakfast (nice discount for cash, btw), we go riding! After all that coffee, you'll want to know the next washroom stop is just 55 minutes away!
- Daily Delectable Dinner - there'll be a big passenger van to transport us to Momma's, a middle-of-the-road (not dead skunk) pub/restaurant, recommended by Ryley, our Saturday ride leader. If we like it on Thursday, maybe we'll be back Friday! Saturday, my daughter and granddaughter will provide food in the "upper room" at the campground. There'll be wine on the table.

Although it may seem like micro-managing, there is some flexibility, as in two choices - take it or leave it. lol! Some call it herding cats. Btw, I have done this before, back in my Upper Canada days. Wasn't perfect then, and won't be now! However, yesterday I did see a crew hard at work with black shoe polish, trying to hide blemishes in the road...

@catcher lol I know where I'm going and can't follow those directions.

From Hwy2 (Trans Canada) I plan on taking exit 271 to Mazerolle Settlement Road. The campground is then a few minutes from the highway. Turning left or right onto Mazerolle Set Road when you come down the off ramp will depend on if you're coming from the East or the West.

Cherie and I started our journey to the east yesterday. We spent the night at a B&B in Odessa, we saw no Russian cruise missiles it actually was very peaceful. Bought take out dinner at an Italian restaurant and we ate on the patio of B&B. We did experience about half hour of heavy rain at the end of the ride and a few slow downs due to accidents in the westbound traffic. Today we are heading into Montreal for a couple of nights.

Had three generations here this afternoon. The ladies have prepared plenty of plans for Saturday's feed, the actual food going into the oven will be a few days yet...

Small change; (perhaps for the better) Saturday's ride will be led initially by myself, but the moment I get lost, Obo will take over! Ryley had to back out, he tells me he's attending his son's soccer tournament on Saturday, which got postponed from the previous week due to weather.

Obo's quite excited, but there won't be any Wing races... :p

Boarding the ferry leaving Newfoundland. Rob and Sheila are Happy!!! Couple of days in PEI then on to the rally on Thur evening. Make room for our gypsy mobile between two
We were close. I ran the Cabot Trail Monday afternoon and stayed in Baddeck Monday night.

I’m at Quebec City, heading for the event. It’s likely been posted here somewhere, but to save searching for it, could someone give me a name and approximate location of the campground where everyone is staying? Muchos Gracias!! I’m in Quebec now so that’s about the extent of my French lol
