Into The Unknown

Yea, its pretty busy here in moab. I cant believe its a monday. Im debating a ride back to green river for a motel or a risk south for camping on 191. Looks like a fairly warm night
There's a KOA on the South side of town but might be full.

In one of his motorcycle travel books, Neil Peart said he considered the roads around Moab to be the best in North America.

Yes, I remember him saying that. I think he said CO141 from Naturita to Gateway was his favorite. After I read that, I made it a point to ride it in 2020, and then on up to 50 and across to Moab via UT128. Was a great day of riding... both 141 and 128 were amazing.

@Pop-Pop , don't forget to drink. Beer or Coffee doesn't count.

Because you are in a desertic climate, you slowly dehydrate yourself just by breathing.

As you have noticed, there is not much vegetation around you, right. A very dry place.

It is worst when it is cool, because you don't sweat, and you don't feel the need to drink.

But you really have to.

How about if i drink twice as much beer? Bought a camelback. Makes a huge diff. I flavor the water w lime.
Nice to hear from you!

But there is also the bad! The wind has been dangerous. Ive had my neck snapped, my helmet twisted, blown into the oncoming lane and a host of other occurances. So, i went back to my kids house. Im grateful for the things ive seen, but id b heartbroken if i scratched the bike up. I, for example, was fighting the wind and it suddenly stopped. I went right and found my wheels in deep gravel on the side of the road.
So, im back at the kids house, planning a change. This wind is nothing like the last three tours. My kids warned me, but i didnt get it. I am totally chapped.
Thanks paulcb! The tent stakes held!
