Thanks John and everyone for the well wishes. I am off the pain meds now. They were lightweight non-happy pills anyway....Zerodol-P 325mg 2x/day
Monday, I'll see a popular sports orthopedic surgeon with the Indian Xrays here in Little Rock, AR.
We'll see what they say. Most of the bruising around the collar bone is gone or moved to adjacent areas. The two left ribs feel best when unweighted.
The hip and outer thigh compression lacerations are scaring well and should not be an issue.
I will be missing most of the dancing here at the National Square Dance Convention as well as the Round Dance convention.
Oh, the price I pay for "scanning instruments" while entering a high speed sweeper. ;) ...just looking at the helmet snap reminds me how much worse it could have been.
Thanks again for all the concern.

Well my time here is coming to an end. It will back to fast lane come Tuesday morning. I've got a lot of great memories; lots of fun, adventure and friendships forged. At the beginning of the tour we were given a Tibetan khata ( scarf );given for life's journey "May happiness and good fortune be yours"
I'm leaving you all with a few shots form here and the during the trip. Hopefully I'll be able to upload some more video once I get back to the US. Thanks to Tashi, George,Danny, and Paul for making this one awesome road trip!

Fali - I've missed out on much of last week's posts...but have REALLY enjoyed catching up - both this site and the blog. You've taken some GREAT pics - and I know pics just don't relay the reality, but it's awesome to see thru your lens...thanks for taking the time to take them along the way - posting. That's time consuming, too!! Your comments on the blog have been informative and interesting - helping us to follow you well each day...much appreciated. Say HI to your mom, for me!

Makes me want to 'finish' the Manali - Leh stretch that we had to abort back in '79 - now that I see all the amazing scenery we missed!

Danny - sure sorry to hear of your 'get off,' and all the pain you've had to go thru - and as others said - the long plane ride back home must've been dreadful. Good to hear you're recovering a bit already.

Looking forward to seeing more of your pics and videos, Fali, when you have time to put them up. Have a good flight back to the US!
For all you guys on the trip - what a treasure full of memories you'll keep with you for the rest of your life!! Great that you took the adventure "by the horns" and did it!!
Peace -
Gord

Sitting here at Zurich airport sipping on an expensive cup of Americana (where's all the cheap tea we were drinking?) and looking at all the pictures I have taken over the past few weeks. Here is one that should have been posted...The Boyz at their highest elevation yet!

Finally made it home last night at 12:30 AM! After the 6 hr turned into a 7.5 hr delay in Zurich I was lucky to catch the last flight from NY to Nashville. It was hour late leaving and then when we got to the runway developed some type of hydraulic problem! Back to the gate unload all our stuff and swap planes. United managed to pull all that off in a couple hours and we were back in route by 10 PM.
Close to 46 hrs of travel time from Mussoorie to Nashville, new record for me!

Wow! I hope that record remains intact forever, Fali.
Although, I could think of a thing or two that might make it even more uncomfortable.
Glad you are home safe and sound regardless.

I was fortunate to have "Lady Luck" with me to create the magic necessary to get a next day appointment for surgery on my broken collar bone.
Today at 12:30 PM CDT I get it reconnected by a young shoulder specialist here in Little Rock, AR. :) feeling better overall but that should take me a giant leap closer to 100% :)

Great news Danny! did they use screws or some other method? Now take it easy and let it heal...remember "I guess I'll be sitting around knitting for a while" you said it so let then knit together and heal well. I'm uploading the Zoji La vid. as I write this little over 100 min remaining... much better than 700 min I was getting in India!

I just talked to him prior to heading out to his surgery. It would be great if you could head down and check on him after he is done with the Doc.
Cheers

Back at the Days Inn after what has been apparently a successful installation of a stainless steel connector to the Clavicle.
Good thing they bumped up the pain meds because this puppy it a nine out of ten pain.
I walk Jan over to the Round Dance at the Holiday Inn across the street now.
The Hydro Condone should kick in by that time.
I believe I will sit a watch. :)

SHOULDER surgeon (Dr. Smitherson) said the screws are just like ones you'd find in Home Depot.
I wanted them to be like ones found in space programs. :)
