If all else fails, you might wrap a little friction tape around each bar before you slide the grip on.

I tried tape with no luck. The inner hard plastic sleeve just tore it off when sliding them on.
The slow drying 2 ton epoxy I used last year let loose in July. The funny thing is it was fine when I had the heated grips on but softened up when sitting in the hot sun. Also last fall the right grip came loose that was held on with the black RTV. I'm trying gell super glue, or Gorilla glue next. That plastic they make the inside of the Oxford grips out of doesn't like glue.
