Always love your pictures Chuck!
They don't use salt. Very low humidity and sun melts the snow off and dries the roads in a few days. Only thing is the melt off gets the bikes dirty so I clean them after each ride. In the mountains that is a different story. Lots of gravel and shadows in the back road twisties.Do you have any particular rule of thumb about how long to wait to ride after a heavy road salting? BTW, getting a McCruise installed on the VX3 this week.
Let me know and I will meet you there for a cup of coffee or lunch.I need to get up to Deckers soon…

I have a little X300 Versys, and also a V-Strom 650 for the dirt. Rode all the dirt all in my younger years with a KLR650 and a DR650. Don't do much 4x4 jeep trails anymore just, a few county dirt roads. It hurts when I fall down.@ChucksKLRST I love it when you make me hate you for living in CO.
The Rockies are spectacular, as are your photos. (But all the snow... no good for motorbike riding!)
So do you have a trail bike to get up the high passes, like Black Bear, Ophiles, Engineers and the like?
Preparing to take delivery of my GSA, I've been watching YouTube videos of these elephantine monstrosities tackling the loose rock and steep rutted trails at the highest levels. Sensible riders will take mid-size bikes like 350s to 700s, but there are those like me who would be thrilled to ride an oversized GS up there, just because...
But the woods and trail riding there could keep me entertained for a lifetime.
In between snows, anyway...
I had to sell it to buy a car. It would have been too much money and hassle to get it to colorado Ill have another bike soon. Im not done riding. What happened to your ST?
