Your choice of course. But the first and third batteries you mentioned are what appear to be the long-lived OEM Yuasas and not the off the shelf replacement variety that doesn't seem to last as long as the first factory supplied battery - for a lot of members...

I'm one of those members: The non-OEM Yuasa did NOT do well for me at all.

#2 seems to be an - outlier lasting from 2009-2014. I think you'll be lucky to find a new Yuasa for either of those prices that lasts as long.

Completely agree.
I also bought #3 and it was an excellent battery. Lasted like the original. When that finally 'gave up the ghost' I went to Lithium and all is well.

Which lithium did you go with, did you have to get a charger also. I ride year round and it dips to frezzing in Jan/Feb.
Not sure if the lithium will work for me if it's cool out.

I bought the MMG battery from Amazon.
It's been very good.
I use a Battery Tender to keep it charged.
Many people state that one has to have a lithium specific charger but my Battery Tender works a charm.
 
Yes, that's it.
I've never had a problem with it but I see some reviewers did.
YMMV
 
When I need a new battery in the future, I think I'll go with this one.
Sad to hear you didn't get longevity out of the one from Scott. Mine from Scott is still going strong since Jan 2014.
Maybe the only difference is I use my bike daily and year round.

There's a review on that site of the battery catching fire. I see it is a Li-ion not a Li-Iron or LiFePO type battery. Personally I don't think Lithium ion or Lithium Polymer batteries are safe for motor vehicles. According to research on the internet Li-iron batteries are much more resistant to this run away problem and therefore the safer choice.
 
I posted earlier that I had a NAPA battery. I was wrong. I called NAPA and they had no cross for the YTZ14S. I had a NAPA in my old 1100. I have the Yuasa in the1300. My clock is starting to get funky and it was a little hard to start today. I believe the one that is in there now was the warranty replacement from the dealer back in '09? Anyway, I need a new one. Amazon has the Yuasa YTZ14S for $129 + free shipping. My dealer will sell me the Yuasa for $150 it lists for $235! Is there any difference in the Yuasa that has the orange writing that says Yuasa YTZ14S MF and the one on Amazon that says Yuasa YTZ14S in white without MF under it? I know the MF just stands for maintenance free but was wondering if that tells you that one is the original OEM and the other is the off the shelf ones from the dealer? Maybe they just changed the graphics since I last bought one? Is there really any difference? Inquiring minds want to know.

Good questions. The graphics could be vendor specific like the way some products are the same but have different model numbers from Amazon BestBuy etc. Or if they indicate a change in branding one of the items could/would be older stock. Naturally you want an AGM battery as fresh as possible.

On 6/11/18, I bought it for 156.55 from ebay's vendor sales@powersportparts.net (that's their email address), Powersport Parts is the name at the top of my receipt. If I click on that sale, ebay comes up with an expired ad notice and moves me over to another offering of the same battery - at a price of $173. I found the cheapest price back then by simply checking all the ebay ads and all the links in google for that battery's number.

Aye, I do that sometimes - usually when there are relatively few hits in my search. Unfortunately, if you have multiple hundred hits, doing this will get you all the items below the realistic price for the item listed first - often dozens of pages.

there's a menu in the left margin where you can specify a min/max price range that will fix that problem.
 
I have just ordered a new Yuasa XTZ14S gel as I am concerned the 10 year old one in the bike maybe nearing its end but it still has 13.5 volts in it and cranks the bike ok, but I did not want to push my luck and more :)

Well done. 10 years on the same battery is excellent.
 
+3 or whatever on the 10yo lifespan! You could put a multimeter across the battery terminals and measure while starting the bike. The voltage under load should be ~10V or greater. A warning sign is your clock resetting to 12:00 every time you start the bike.

At 10yr just replacing on GP isn't a bad idea. Just don't expect to get close to that with this new Yuasa.
