• Start with a City beginning with A
    • This is BY STATE
    • Similar to the Tag contest, there will be one thread per state
    • Post a picture of your bike AND some sign, building etc which clearly shows the city/state you're in
    • The next person posts from a city with the name beginning with B, then C, D, etc
    • You can't posts back-to-back pics, you have to wait for a person to post the next city
    • Once Z is reached, the game starts over with A
    • If your state doesn't have a city beginning with the next letter in sequence, it's okay to skip that letter
    • If the location sits for more than one month, the person that posted that is open to move it to the next letter.

The World Wide game is a bit different as it is by whatever is considered a geographic type of regional category, state/province/village etc. and all those will be in the single World Wide A-Z topic.

Patty (@Peppermint) can probably add a lot more colourful details about this bar. Apparently she frequented it often in her younger years.
There is probably a story or two to be told there isn't there Patty?
I totally missed this post back in July. Yes, I was at the Rockburn Pub several times, but as a musician, rather than a simple patron. I used to gig there with the Celtic band I played with, called Black Nag. We were pretty popular and it was always fun, great atmosphere. We'd usually grab a meal there as well, at some point during one of our breaks between sets. The food was always pretty good. And of course, you and I rode out on our bikes and had supper there one evening.
I haven't been to the Rockburn in years - time to visit again, perhaps!

...... if the name of the city is 'city of abc'... then the name begins with 'C'.
City of ...... falls under the letter C according to the above protocol. Fair enough.

Ville de ...... is French and literally translates to English as City of .......
Ville de
and City of are one in the same in this context to my mind. Applying the same logic, any name beginning with Ville de should fall under the letter V, but the above didn't.

I just saw the below posted in the TX tag thread, which brought the above to mind again.
It is in English, so no translation to muddy the waters. It starts with City of, but is not posted under the letter C as the above protocol would seem to require.
City of Union Valley

In the past I have forfeited getting a few tags because the signs included the words Ville de or City of on them, depending on whether I was in Quebec or elsewhere.
I did so because it isn't clear to me when City of (or Ville de) should be included in determining the correct tag letter and when it shouldn't.

That's not the name of the city more of a description of the FD. Sometimes the name of the city has that as the official name, just not in my case.

Fair enough, and a good point as this is very true.

I rarely have any idea if it forms part of the official city name or not however. If I do happen to know fine, but if I have to check to confirm before posting it I just won't bother. That would kind of suck the fun out of the whole tag game for me, the fun being the riding.

Just a thought- maybe City of should be ignored all together for tag purposes.
