So Joe, is the CTX1300 going to have it own Owners Froum, or are they going to be absorbed into this Forum with the ST1100 and the ST1300??
Probably none of the above. It's a cruiser. It's a 1300. It has roughly the same engine as the ST. But it's not an ST.

Re: Replacement for the Honda ST1300 in 2014?

Maybe it's good news that there is a 2014 ST1300P. IIRC when the 1300 was introduced, Ma Honda still offered the ST1100 in a "P" model...
True. There was a 2002 ST1100P but no civilian model. But there also was no 2011 or 2013 ST1300 civilian model. But there appear to be 2014 sport touring models offered by Yamaha, BMW, Moto Guzzi, Ducati, Kawasaki, Triumph. Include adventure tourers in the mix and you can add all of those marques plus Suzuki and KTM.

I've never seen a 2013 for sale, but lots of 2012s.

There is a 2013 ST1300 available in Canada. Honestly, I don't know how these things are done. It must be just an exercise in homologation, because there are no changes to the bike that I know of -- including the color which has been black for years. Other than changing the serial number plate and reprinting the owner's manual with 2013 on it, I'm not sure what else is involved.

You really have to wonder why there would be one for Canada, but not the US. Were the European and Canadian bikes different from the US bikes in 2010?

Well the EU bikes are different because they are rebadged as Pan European (for one thing). I doubt that the Cdn '13 is any different than the US '12.

This happens on other brands. The US 2010 MG Stelvio was the same as the Cdn 2011 Stelvio. The problem was that in 2011, MG released a revised version of hte Stelvio which never came to N. America (they also released an NTX version that eventually did come here). But magazines promoted the 2011 features in Canada, when our version of the bike didn't get the new features (which included revised bodywork and a much larger fuel tank) -- it was really a 2010 model and not a 2011. Very confusing...

Our Prime Minister Harper likes ST1300, so he bought all the stock for every one that have to run for Gov. Even if winter is hard, they just equipped the machines with winter tires. Not car winter tires, but MWT.

Actually, there was also a 2003 ST1100P - found that out a coupla months ago when I had to replace rear wheel bearings on my 2003 ST1300A.

Lots in the pipeline, I suppose. If the bikes aren't big sellers, it makes more (financial) sense for them to do a larger production run that will keep them stocked for two years than two small ones.

There were no 2011s or 2013s in North America, although there were police models those years. This may add to the swirling speculation, but the 2014 fiche is out and the ST is not on it. (Yet, anyway. Neither is the CTX.)

There is a 2013 ST1300 in Canada, which I assume is still in North America. See the Honda Canada website for more info.
