She said yes... ;-> (NT700VA)

Two options you might wish to add:

Lower fairing.

The other item is the hand guards.

The lower fairing is nice to keep both rain and cold air off the feet. The Honda air deflectors are an engineering marvel to me. I had to have them pointed out to me, the first time I saw them. They blend into the fairing so well, you would think that was the way Honda designed the bike. They do not look like an add-on at all.

But...they are brilliant! That piece of plastic, pushes the air out past your hands so cold, rain and bugs don't hit your fingers.

And I can report that the Zumo 220 works absolutely flawless...
The kit doesn't care if you leave the route for any reason, it just plots on once you thread back into it... like a Swiss clock :thumb:

Alright, since the search brought no results here in the old world, I ordered one of the laST sets on this planet from the US... $ 210,- incl P&P... already wondering if local customs will have a field-day upon arrival...

Alright, Wind deflector kit is inbound...

Shocking news though:
A friend of mine, running an ST1300, has as well gotten himself an NT700 now; a '08 in the same color... he's picking it up Saturday... :think1:

Well, some minor maintenance...
Lower shock mount (needle bearing) had some play, so out with the wheel to recover the shock assy from the NT

Turned out that the original bearing was completely dry... the new one is packed with marine grease now, that'll last...
All firm now, no "clicking" when rocking the swing-arm up and down... check...

While at it I also topped the oil in the preload adjuster (it was missing about 1/3rd -> 7~8 turns till resistance... now it's like 1/2 a turn )

Oil and filter change...

As the shop was heated nicely by then, I further attached the wind deflector kit

And then some nose art ;)

Martin, can't tell you enough how I have enjoyed following this thread. I actually just finished "binge-reading" all of it, as I hadn't seen it before, or maybe hadn't paid attention. I joined at about the same time you started it. A compelling read, for an hour or so, with my morning pot of coffee.
It was great following ze Girlfriend's initial curiosity / interest, through all your mechanical safety checks, and upgrades, and her now deepening interest in riding and road-tripping, as well as her own notable riding improvement.
Thanks for inviting me to be a part of your journey!
Not to appear trite - not meaning to - but this saga has actually been inspiring, on a number of levels.
(Now I'm feeling inadequate while recognizing I have my own 2 neglected bike restoration projects in my garage. But that's for another thread.)

Yeah, she's a good sport, surprising at times (like continuing to commute with the NT into winter season...) seemingly was getting that NT and some proper Dainese GoreTex stitches equipping her with the right tools for simply enjoying it more...
She's already planing routes for springtime, utilizing MapSource, so pretty motivated already

Yep, 2 pcs CB500/4's awaiting resurrection...
And a possible chance to get another CB350/4 for her too... :think1:

GF is totally pleased... ;)

This morning, while commuting on her NT a motorcycle LEO waved at her...

Took me some convincing though, but ze GF finally agreed on letting me get her a '07 RC52, NT700V "Deauville" with 36K-km on the clock...
Gonna install a few farkels (2-way radio, satnav, lower cowling kit) and we're ready for some nice, long hauls...
Very nice, Martin! But geeeze... where’s the picture of the girlfriend???
What does your wife think?.

BeST, John

Hey Fenian… You quoted me ^^^ but I did not write “What does your wife think?.” Heh heh… don’t put words in my mouth. ;)
