I like this thread. I like to ride and camp. I've camped MANY nights (at least 200+) on ride trips. So I dug through the pictures and pulled out a few more. I also like to camp in the middle of anywhere off the path with just myself and the coyotes and critters.
When I started going to ST-owners events my camping was gear was super cheap and dated. This was my setup in 09. Cheap Bass Pro shop tent and a bag I'd had for too many years. It didn't keep me warm on those cold nights below 35 degrees.
Somewhere off a curve in a Missouri road:
Behind an old farmhouse in Missouri:
A wildlife hunting area in Kansas:
I bought some better gear after a few STOC events. Eureka 3XT tent was a big improvement. Location is Big Brutus coal shovel in Kansas:
I arrived at this Missouri road side park one night late in the rain and used the shelter for dry cover.
I bought another smaller tent, baseball field out in the county 60 miles east of Denver:
Behind some big hay bales in a field of south Texas.
I was the only bike at FerrySTOC this night before the riff-raff showed up the next day.
And the next day the Riff-Raff surrounded me literally.
T. Padden and I have made the Alaska trip twice together now despite all had bets we would never tolerate each other for that long. Canmore British Columbia campsite.
Some ugly guy relaxed to the max at Liard Hot Springs B.C.
This lake side spot in the Yukon is one of the prettiest places I've ever spent the night. Filled my water bottle right out of the lake.
This is somewhere in Upper Peninsula of Michigan on my return trip from LobsterSTOC in Maine. A parking lot across from a VFW post I think.
The end of a dirt road in North Dakota.
And this is a 2000 feet north of Mexico at Loma Paloma campground, Presidio Texas. After many days of sitting in the sun the Moutain Hardware tent was getting thread bare so I bought a small BRIGHT Eureka tent.
Yes I like to ride and camp, off in a day for ArkanSTOC!
