Here's a good place to start. There were several threads on the issue. This one has about 10 pages. I had much better results chucking the neoprene pads,, in favour of "hook side velcro strips",, there are pictures of that. If you have to rebuild your signal switch,, there are links to a good youtube video on the subject. Gotta ride,,, talk later,,, CAt'

What the foam is doing is compressing to allow the switch to move far enough to make momentary contact, but at the same time providing enough "push back" to overcome the OEM latching.
