Time and technology march on. Choice is good and there are lots of choices in sport touring tires right now. I might try them, after all the T31 was my favorite for a long time.

Well, dang. Just put front T31 on the Versys 1000, and have a new T31 waiting for the rear in a few months.

If I remember correctly the rubber that hits the road is about the size of a credit card. So 13% may sound like a lot but in reality it isn't much and how do we really know is not 12%. And the extra 10% of a 6,000 mile tire, an extra 600 miles, well that remains to be seen AKA "I always ride on perfect roads" No doubt it's a better tire but after 3 -4 years running you would think they could do better than 10%. I would be shocked if my mutual fund only increased 10% after 4 years. IMO

Marketing.... 13% "over its predecessor", how did its predecessor compare to other brands/profiles? One can estimate its performance over the T31, similar to comparing a PR4 to a Road5 (which to me was an excuse to raise prices). Real world is what you want, and the only way is to just go buy a set when the time comes. Maybe they'll keep the T31 around just in case you don't like them.

What do you run on the CBF R'man.
I ran Michies, PR2 I think, and it shook its head like a git when new, but eased a little as they wore down. It was only ever wobble and not weave.

I have a T31 on order for the rear.... and a T30 on the front I was going to upgrade to a T31 when it needed to be replaced.

Ahh advances in technology - or is it just basically reformulated advertising to look like progress?

Sounds like a good time to STOC up on heavily discounted T31's. I bought a few rear T30 EVO's for around $100 right after the T31's came out. They weren't but a year old and I had them used up before their second birthday. Good deal.

Just looked on the Bridgstone site and they only have T31's listed. Seems there are many news outlets inflating the new tire before the manufacturer has it out online. :)

It came with a brand new set of Shinko Raven 009's, so I just finished wearing out the rear (handled really well, wore evenly suprizingly lasted a long time). Went back to my old standby a PR4 on the rear, the front Shinko isn't yet worn out. Have a Metzeler Z6, Avon Spirit and a Shinko in the stash for the front when the time comes. I've often heard good things about the T31's, I should really go do that one day too.
