Did my test last night by removing the FCE and the bike ran worse. I'll have to go back over every crimped connector to see if it is one or more of them. Took my time when I was installing the connectors however maybe got sloppy on one. It will take a few days as we have family in town so I'll let you know when I know.

It's possible the crimped connections are off? I soldered mine as I hate using connectors like that for something not easy to get to and check.

How are most of you connecting your FCE? Are you just crimping the connectors on, soldering the connectors on or soldering the wires directly together? (this is new to me so wanted as much input before attempting!)

Sorry to hear that for your sake, but also glad to hear it for the FCE's sake.

Hopefully you are on to something with the bad crimps. Let me know if I can help.

I soldered mine... That area is not easy to get so if you start having problems you 'think' are related to this mod it is not a quick check. You could extend the wires so all the connections are under the passenger seat but even that would require soldering or adding connectors to extend the wires.

I'm sure using those connectors can be just as reliable as a soldered connection and I'm sure soldering incorrectly can be just as bad as an incorrectly crimped wires...

In the end, it's up to you of course...

Something that is puzzling me. I see here in this thread that you have to remove the rear luggage rack tail light etc to get to this stuff. On my bike I can reach under the seat and release the rubber strap and pull the computer up. Am I looking at the wrong computer/electronic box. Just don't see any need to pull all that stuff off to get to it. Mine is an 09 non ABS. Didn't notice how it was on the 07. :confused::confused::confused:

There's 2 boxes on an ABS bike, one is the ECU and the other the ABS module.

Can you get to enough of the wires to cut/crimp or solder? If so, then you're good.

I can pull the whole computer up with the wires attached to at least seat level. If I unplug the tail/turn lights and take one other plug off of its retainer on the frame I think the whole thing will come up and be very accessible.

I will find out for sure when mine gets here. No ABS on mine.

Yep, called Ivan and he is out today had to leave word. One was a 2 flash and the other was 8 flash. So I need to check out the vacuum 5 way Tee that is hooked to the Map Sensor it seems. I cleared the codes and rode it for a couple of miles and they did not come back on; just the bike wasn't very ridable, stalling-surging. Just to add to the overall frustration the battery gave up. So as if I didn't have enough to do already. Hey what is life about anyway; it just took the wrong week with family in town to be testie.

Yup, Sonny.......... life is what happens when your planning other things.... I'm confidant you'll figure it out.. ??Fuel filter?? Bad gass?? What do you mean by "Flashes" Is this from the ABS computer??? or the ECU??????? Maybe one of the connectors isn't seated just rite or a wire in the connector isn't in all the way...

Some times failing batteries in computer controlled vehicles can make them do some strange things, even if the charging system is working correctly. Maybe when you get a new battery it might change things. We can always hope.

What are the two and eight flash codes?

#2 is a MAP sensor error. Not sure about #8 IAT sensor??

You have to follow the manual instuctions to extract the codes from the computer. The codes are determined by counting blinks of the FI fault indicator lamp.

Has anyone with improved fpr, exhaust, air filter, G2 rode with FCE installed, then returned bike to stock equipment and compared before and after? The FCE sounds great but I wonder how much (or little) of the FCE's benefits are lost when used with earlier improvements. Not liking the idea of adding the FCE only to have to undo everything else, but if it works well even with other improvements then I'd probably have to go for it. Thanks

I have the G2 and Delkevics. I put the oem FPR back on per Ivan's suggestion.

All I can say is it's smoother than it was before and noticeably so..

Guess I'm mainly concerned with the tt fpr, not really wanting to pull that and replace with stock if I can still get good results with what I've got (a TT 61)...

I installed the fuel cut off eliminator and did not change back to the original fuel pressure regulator (I have had the turbo tom in for several years).

The bike really is much smoother, easier and pleasurable to ride. I do not have any intention of reinstalling the original fpr. As I recall it was kind of a pain in the butt to switch the fpr.

In other words, I would not worry about which fuel pressure regulator you have on your bike.
