WoodSToc Aug 17-20, 2023 - Woodstock, NB

Yesterday, I pre-rode what will be the Friday (although it and Saturday's may get swapped) ride route. Fantastic! Scenery that's just superlative, if I say so myself. And both the breakfast stop early in the route, and the lunch stop later, are one-of-a-kind fun stops. Btw, the lunch stop has pie!
Here's a light riddle for you: what is it that lies in bed all day, and just looks beautiful?

No, not a rose, although all the ST-O guys consider you one.
As for what lies in it's bed all day, I think the Friday WoodSToc ride will reveal the answer...

Oh Oh Mr. Kotter, Mr. Kotter... I got it.

I first had to apply WWCD (what would Catcher do) so I hopped into your mindset (there's lots of room in here BTW) to ride a mile in your biking boots.

I had the sort of correct answer yesterday, but kept thinking "no it can't be fishes or rocks. that lay around all day..." so like Peppermint I went to flower beds.

The bed though, is a river bed, thus what lays in a bed all day and looks beautiful, can be the one and only St. John River!

And here goes with some things you need to know - aka, enticements!
Food - nothing too high priced, that's the first rule. Its common knowledge that ST'ers are fond of pie, so there'll be pie two days in a row. New Brunswick is known for both potatoes and seafood, we have venues for both. As a nod to my firewood background, you'll get to see what's billed as the world's biggest axe, although the main reason for that particular stop is a washroom break. There'll be repeat performances of the answer to my riddle, it'll be lying around all day. So in no particular order:
-The Clam Digger
-Nackawic
-Potato World
-Mactaquac
-Porter's
-Exit 153
Those who've been to STOC events before, know that we tend to have a Saturday evening meal together at a somewhat better eatery, not a fast food place. So the plan for this event is similar. Bikes will be left at the Ho-Jo's, and transportation will be by van. (free) That way, having an adult beverage won't be an issue. After dinner, we'll go to a nice firepit location, provided by one of my new best friends! And there'll be pie and rye, not sure about the rye, but I like that it rhymes! Maybe I could rustle up some cheap beer... When everyone's had quite enough, and Obo passes out, we'll pile into the van and go back to the Ho-Jo.

If you're coming, please say so on the rsvp provided on page one.
And, I'd like to see a couple more from eastern Ontario, as well as some of the good guys from the American side. WoodSToc is only twenty minutes from the border!

George, I'm not going to make Woodstock. My bad. My passport expired, my bad. I do have 1 on those enhance drivers license. The one with a gold star. I was told/read as good as a passport-not. I'm not sure now what it's really good for? Cost extra 80 dollars for what? Oh 8 to 13 weeks for new passport. I'm working on that.
