Rode 197 miles today through Illinois, Wisconsin, and Iowa looking at the trees......modest guy that I am I turned my back to some of the female trees that were changing their leaves!! Russ.
The local BMW dealer (Seattle BMW Motorcycles) has started something new...a Moto Mystery Ride series. I didn't go last month. When I saw how many were signed up to go, I said it wasn't my thing. They had 81 riders!
Anyway, this morning, they were doing coffee, cookies and pastries (no donuts ) at the dealership with a small obstacle course and cones in the parking lot. A chance to practice your skills and get to know others.
I didn't get pictures of my bike, but I found this one. I'm in one of the pictures.
(I would never buy one of these. Never. Nope. Nada.)
And I got to test the FAST STOP braking on the RT again today. Fawn deer. I saw something moving out from the side yard of a house when I was just 4 miles south out of Laurel MS. From the corner of my eye it seemed to be a dog running out real quick to just chase and bark at me. I looked over and started hitting the brakes about the same time. OH DARN, it was a fawn of about 40 pounds running from the house yard somehow. It just kept going faster and faster and right in my path as it went from yard to road. I'm not sure how it kept speeding up but by the time it was 9 feet in front of me it's little hooves were nearly kicking up asphalt as it crossed the road. It was so close in front as I was stopping that I didn't see it right of me at all but I didn't hit it so all ended well with my heart rate at 66?
I did a short ride to church this morning. Then I went to Fred Meyer and QFC to practice my parking lot maneuvers with moving cars...and bought some raspberries and strawberries while I was there.
Awesome Mr Q. Well we weren’t that ambitious. Rode 108 Saturday. Kettle Moraine Scenic Dr. No pics. Today hauled bikes to Corp of Engineers campground on the Mississippi. Plan to do some riding next two days. Awesome campground.
