They Killed my ST-1300

Today the headache from my concussion is reduced --not gone but better than it was yesterday

On the other hand, I'm feeling a ligament damage injury in my knee joint that is not the same as the general bruising to both of my legs and my ribs.
The knee problem is something that I didn't notice at the hospital-- but once you are admitted ti the E.R. at a hospital they put you flat on a gurney, and you don't walk or stand for hours.
Which means I didn't notice knee pain at that time, as the swelling began and the adrenaline in my system from the crash wore off..

I will be seeing a personal injury lawyer who specializes in motorcycle accident cases tomorrow. I know his partner in that law practice from DUI work when I did criminal defense and DUI defense myself.

I anticipate that the book value on a 2007 ST 1300 that had 53,000 miles would be around two grand --with that kind of money I could either buy a new Chinese moped -scooter, or I'll be shopping for a used bike.

I might try a different style of bike : maybe a sport bike like the Kawasaki Ninja, in 500 or 650 size, as long as I can put a trunk / box on it for storage that might serve my needs .

I'll pray about it.

Speaking of storage boxes on a motorcycle, it was quite a shock regaining my senses laying flat on my back on the street and looking around and not seeing my motorcycle at first )because it was pushed a good distance away from me) but seeing parts of my motorcycle along with clothes and tools and all the other junk I had in my saddle bags and trunk scattered all around!

I remember seeing my gloves laying a few feet away from me and thinking
"What The **** --did the impact knock my gloves off my hands?? So then I looked at my feet because I wanted to see if the impact knocked me out of my boots too
(I have heard of this happening ).

But then I realized the gloves I saw where my spare gloves that came out of the glove box, not the gloves I was wearing which were still on my hands !

I work on and big red and white ambulance and people still “ don’t see” us.
Yeah, i've driven 18 wheel tractor trailer rigs-- 70 feet long, 13 feet tall weighing 80,000 pounds, and a shocking number of people pulled right out in front of me.
And in a way that makes me think they didn't see me, rather than thinking they saw me but they expected me to take evasive action not to kill them.

Several videos online where people pull out in front of fire trucks that are running all their lights and sirens ... ;)

Not everyone is the same. Here's one thing I learned from my accident. I was evaluated at the ER for a head injury. The docs found nothing. But it took me 30 days to piece together what happened.

I spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out why my bike was pointed in the opposite direction than what I thought I'd been going. And then trying to gather up parts to ride it back to the motel. And of course, the bike was totaled, but my mind didn't register that part.

That headache was there for a reason.
