So far so good , I have done the first 1000 miles on my bike.
The engine is a gem and fuel efficient.
I replaced the standard windscreen with the largest CalSci screen, no more buffetting and an invisible hand pulling your head forwards , wonderful!!
You do not need to raise it too much and this gives you the better angle and wind protection for your hands. Took it up to 100MPH and still absolute comfort.
Another story is the seat, not good, it will be replaced by a Russel seat . I have one on my KLR and I love it since the miles are longer on a KLR
A power socket is a must on a bike like this so I added one inside the right pocket . The socket fits nicely inside the small niche on the left and the plugs stay dry this way
I am considering handlebar risers, is there much difference between the Helibar and MCL risers ? I have seen some old posts that they are more or less the same but Helibar touts contineous improvement so the 2010 riser plates may be different. MCL has a special going on the risers at this moment , but the higher priced Helibars seems to have more rise and pullback . Let me know if they are worth the extra money.

These are the risers that I used. They are much cheaper than the others and the quality is excellent.

Those look good, but I like the plate with threaded hole for GPS mount on the Heli Bar Risers. I think the heli bars come up 1" and back 2", but I could be wrong. My new Heli bar risers are different as well, it seems they are closer to you and a tad closer together. I like the new ones, but they aren't much different the my first Heli Bar risers.

If he is not looking for the Ramball mount than these will fit the bill. I like the fact that they raise the handle bars, but stay in the same axis of rotation that the stock bars do. This keeps the bars from feeling like a tiller on a boat.

Bought an 05 ABS just after Christmas, and have just been able to put 650 miles on it the past couple of weekends. We have had a brutal winter here for NC.

Love the electric windscreen, wish my wing had it. The motor is smooth, powerful, and has a sweet spot in the 80 to 85 mph range. I'm going to have to watch that carefully. The Sargent seat works for me, been able to go 180-190 miles at a stretch with no problem. My bladder needed relief, not my seat.

Anyone who has put some type of highway bars, I would love to hear what you are using and how you like them.

Other than that, I'm really going to like this bike. The wing is great, but it is heavy, and I wanted to go smaller without sacrificing too much comfort. The ST it is.

My wife's ST that I just picked up in Memphis has the highway bars. I just put 2850 miles on it in three days and the highway bars are nice for a change in sitting position for a while. I do not have them on my ST and do not intend to place them on there. Hope that helps. Where did you buy your ST from? Someone on this site? Take care and ride safe!!!

I think it depends on how tall you are if you think risers are for you. I tried the MCL riser and found I liked the stock bar height better. The thing I really didn't like is that it pulled the bars in closer to each other and just felt too narrow.

One thing to consider is that changing your bar and seat positions may ultimately cause you to change your windscreen again. Hopefully only an adjustment to the electrical positioning system is needed. Seems like the windscreen should be the last update after settling on the desired riding position.

If you are comfortable on the bike so far why the need to change the ergos with risers at all? Many owners ride it long just the way it sits from the factory. Some risers prevent use of a decent sized tank bag and prevent the gas tank from clearing the bars when raised for maintenance or farkeling.

I have Gen Mar risers 1 1/4 up 1 back, I also use MCL center cover with ram ball. If I had it to over I would get the one peice MCL (just cuz I like him better)

I installed a HeliBar riser in 2006, so it was not the newer version, and there is no problem with raising the tank for maintenance. The prop rod can fit in the socket-screw hex that is in the riser. My riser has the ram-ball.

I have Original Heli riser.

When I lift my tank I always have to remove the tank mounting bracket from the bike. I haven't been able to use the prop rod, to any beneifit since installing the risers.

Now that I installed the new gen Pilot Heli riser, it has even less room between the tank and the riser plate, making it more difficult.

Well, managed to put my first 226 miles on my 06' ABS over the weekend, including a nice trip up beautiful highway 1 to Ragged Point with my wife on the back. Having never owned a sport touring bike before, I had some difficulty getting comfortable with my seating position. The bike came with a Corbin 1 piece replacement that feels comfortable enough, but it tends to make me slide forward to the fuel tank a bit more than I'm used to. Is this typical of the Corbin seat? Also, it felt like my wrists got fatigued a bit because of the forward leaning position. I see some risers for sale on Ebay that I think may help me after reading some of the comments on this thread. I see a factory Honda riser for sale that rises up 1", and 1/2" back along with the Heli brand that rises up 2", and 2-1/2" back. Seems like a big step in between the two. I'm 5'-11" with a 32" inseam. Any suggestions? Otherwise, it is an awesome bike with tractor like power that was pretty comfortable in the curves. I didn't have any OMG moments which is good and it felt very solid with my wife on the back. She was not used to sitting higher than me in the front, but she has never been on a sport touring bike either. So were getting more comfortable as we go - just got to keep on riding! Thanks for any input.

Does not exist, to my knowledge. OEM has a plate between the handlebars and top of the triple trees. Maybe 3/8" thick.

This is replaced by Heli Bar or MCL risers. Pretty mush the two mirror each other.

There were 3 generations of Heli risers. I have a Gen 2 at home for sale, but I can't remember the exact amount of movement. Let me see if I can find it....

Looks like the GenMar riser blocks. I'd say they probably had a local machine shop copy and produce some.
Ask them for the Honda part number.

From my list...
Heli: (aka Tour Performance)
Gen 1: 1" tall, 1.5" rear
Gen 2: HC0303, 1" tall, 2" rear HC0303P 1"tall, 2.5 rear
Gen 3: 2"tall, 2.5" rearward

Genmar: 1.25 tall, 1"back
MCL Riser blocks: 1"tall, .75" back
