As a bonafide, credentialed and obnoxious cheap S.O.B., even I would have to agree with this.
That's a roll of the dice, but your bike and your dice.
The nice thing about moly is that even a few ounces will last a really long time.
I have about a pint-sized tub that will outlast me, even with two shaftie-propelled motorbikes.

On ADVrider, there's a long-running thread, I think it's called Craigslist Finds or something like that, where riders post silly ads from their local area.Just roam eBay... its amazing what wreckage people are trying to sell to the unaware...
The bikes are mostly goofy looking clapped out custom jobs or wrecked or beat-up bikes with outrageous and absurd asking prices, along with laughable descriptions.
We've all seen these kinds of ads, when you see them and are convinced the seller is on meth, or crack.

Ha, you want pictures.... how to learn the hard way.....
Off my 1990 1100 sidecar puller after it destroyed itself in Oct 2023! My first box failed at 105,000 miles in 2007 (not sure of the root problem as I handed the outfit to my dealer at the time and they rebuilt the final drive which then failed in 2014 at 135,000 miles). The pictures drive was my second, fitted 2014, the bikes mileage at the time was 165,000 but this drive was from a breakers yard and had covered 30,000 miles on the outfit, but no idea of it's real mileage! Interestingly, up until around 2013, when I joined this forum my drive had always been lubricated with Moly Grease not paste as I knew no better! The pictured drive had been lubricated with Moly Paste and all seals changed on each tyre change since I bought it. Prior to it's fitting on my bike... who knows!
As I explained when first posting these pictures (they disappeared in the great system upgrade
) I had just earlier has a replacement exhaust fitted by a dealer and I suspect that they removed the rear wheel in the process, what was missing when I removed the wheel was the thrust washer between the final drive flange and the wheel, could that have made a difference.... who knows!
Last picture is the nice replacement flange fitted to another Ebay final drive (also in really good condition) and having just had a new tyre fitted, new silicon seals (thank you for the recommendation @ST1100Y) and Loctite 8012 applied, I can confirm that both spider and drive are in great condition. Phew

I like your center picture. The splines are nice and smooth. No lumps or bumps.
Am going to take the chance how long does it typically last millage wise you know, will inspect rear wheel alot sooner than required am getting withdrawal symptoms now messing with a cbr600 f4 on & off in my spare time am pretty confident it the fuel pump, in the CBR , last of the good weather , am off 2 days, Everything bought on AliExpress worked out including break pads I Review well , Even bought Nicotine Patches for 1/7th of the Price here & they Legit Have Chronic Fatigue amongst other symptoms mainly Inflammation, numbness Suspected MS waiting on Testing me Mother has MS! anyhow read how people use Nicotine for Inflammation so ordered & within cpl days use got me off the Gel/sprays was using that was several weeks ago! Thanks for your Help & Everybody else who gave Advice hopefully have Pam the Pan on the Road Tomorrow !The problem is that you don't know what you will actually get there... a faked packing with "some black lubricant" in it?
they're the grandmasters of global product piracy, wheel bearings, brake pads, clutch plates, batteries, down to Stabilo pens & markers, consumer electronics, etc...
Having the wrong paste on those splines gets expensive real fast...

Keep in mind that your ST1100 debuted in 1990. It was designed and spec'd in the 1980's. For the entire production run of the ST1100 and well beyond the Moly 60 Honda product was readily and easily available from any Honda dealer and elsewhere up until only a few years ago in the late 2010's. Chemical requirements and their applications change as technology changes like everything else and Honda determined that their chemical requirements no longer included that specific product. Even though Honda no longer sells Moly 60 some of the Honda recommended alternatives that are listed in the service manual are still available, more easily in the UK than many other places as a matter of fact. Even if they are not stocked locally they are still readily available to be ordered and there are other alternatives not listed by Honda that are equally easy to procure.
